Claire & Jake’s gorgeous Wellington Barn wedding, with Martin Dabek Photography
Happy last week at work everyone!!! Ahh…. just one week and we’ll all be starting each day with an extra hour in bed, and alternating cosy pyjamas and sparkly going out gear until NEXT YEAR!! I can’t wait… and I have good news! We’ll be featuring some of our favourite weddings of the year over the Christmas holidays so YOU can still enjoy our most fabulous wedding inspo on the blog every day! Oh but first… this week I have some absolute beauties up my sleeve.
I’m starting the week with the most fabulous barn wedding from Wiltshire. Tomorrow I’ll introduce you to some wonderful suppliers from around the UK who you might not have discovered yet but who I know you’ll LOVE! Then on Wednesday it’s all about Hollywood glamour with a gorgeous photoshoot from West Sussex suppliers. On Thursday we’re getting prepared for Christmas proposals – it literally is the most wonderful time of the year! – and Friday brings our year of weddings to a close with a stunning winter wedding in Hertfordshire. Shall we begin?!
Gorgeous bride Claire and her handsome new hubby Jake were married at Wellington Barn in Wiltshire and chose glorious dark pinks with red and burgundy accents to style their day. Our lovely friend and English Wedding member Martin Dabek Photography captured their day beautifully. The flowers are stunning – Claire’s bouquet by Lynne Jessett features a huge hydrangea surrounded with stunning foliage, country girl roses and more delicate blooms in shades of berry pink and red. The bridesmaids carry similar bouquets – the pic of them all together is one of my favourites!
You mustn’t miss the cake from this wedding – it’s a masterpiece of watercolour icing with gold leaf accents, dotted with flowers, strawberries and macarons – and it looks spectacular! Check out The Macaroom for more like this!
The venue is just wonderful. Wellington Barn is a luxury event venue in the heart of Wiltshire, close to Bristol, Newbury, Swindon and Salisbury. You can choose from the older barn or the newer extension if you’re inviting a large number of guests to your wedding. It’s nice to see Martin Dabek listed as a recommended supplier for Wellington Barn on their website! As well as shooting Claire and Jake’s big day there, Martin’s photographed a spring wedding at Wellington Barn, and another favourite of mine – Sophie and Alex’s wedding (where they lit up all the trees outside the barn! It was incredible!) Claire and Jake really made the space their own with pretty, countryside styling – the florals and foliage were key, and I adore their table plan on a rustic wood crate, which is simple and effective!
The atmosphere comes across brilliantly in every image of Claire and Jake’s wedding day. As day turns to night, the pretty candle light and fairy lights add a magical touch, and the stunning backlit shots taken in the evening take my breath away. Scroll right through to the end to see why a little rain on your wedding day can be an absolute treat… with the right wedding photographer of course!
