A beautiful celebration – Farhaa and Ferd’s Ariana Gardens wedding, with Emily Black Photography
Sometimes I save up my very favourite weddings for the weekend, so we can all spend a little longer browsing through all the gorgeous images and Pinning every stunning detail and idea. Today is one of those days… beautiful Farhaa and Ferd celebrated in style with a fabulously styled and gloriously photographed wedding at Ariana Gardens in Essex. Their photographer was the wonderfully talented Emily Black Photography, who is based in Hampshire. Grab a cuppa, get comfy and enjoy this beautiful Indian wedding with me…. and oh, wouldn’t a slice of this breathtaking cake be perfect right now?!
We chose a marble themed cake with a special topper saying “And so the adventure begins” as we are both quite adventurous it suited our personalities.
We had a stage area with a flower backdrop and two big cherry blossom trees on each side. We went for a floral theme and loved the idea of cherry blossoms. The venue had a tree growing inside and added that extra décor.
We made our welcome sign and seating chart. Our venue had 2 floors so we decorated the staircase with a flower trail and also created our own guestbook table, with flowers and a Sign a jenga piece. Definitely worth it!

How did you choose your photographer?
We spent months searching Instagram and online!
We arranged an engagement shoot with Emily and instantly knew we wanted to have her as our wedding photographer as she really made us feel comfortable, she understood our personalities and really made the whole process feel very personal.
I am in awe of all the moments captured, some that I was not even aware of myself. Having an Indian wedding with so many people can feel very overwhelming at times and the day flew by. Emily did a great job of capturing all the most important moments and I cannot stop looking at the photos since they have been sent to us. I really struggled to pick my “favourites” as I have just been selecting them all!

What’s your top tip for saving money?
Focusing on things that really matter to you and not spending money on things like your shoes (which no one can see) I wore really comfortable kitten heels, because I didn’t want to be taller than my partner – and am glad I could walk and feel more free.
… and which elements of your wedding are you glad you spent more on?
We spent more on our outfits which really complimented each other on the day. We went for a simple yet classic look for an Indian wedding and this really came through in all the photos.
Did you fall in love with your wedding dress?
Yes! I had dreams about my dress after I saw it the first time, I kept shopping for other dresses but ended up coming back to that same dress 🙂
Tell us about the suits for the guys – what did the groom and ushers wear??
We went for grey suits with a small gold lapel
