Industrial Luxe wedding edit at The Railway Barn, Essex (images by Maryann Morris)
So how was your weekend? We survived a brilliant sten do at a mini festival close to home – it was absolutely fantastic, but oops… I’m a little more ‘bronzed’ than I’d like to be right now!! I’m currently enjoying a lovely breeze in my little studio office as I bring you today’s beautiful inspo feature. This is the work of a fabulously creative bunch of Essex wedding suppliers, and promises to bring a touch of cool to your screens, wherever you may be on this super hot day! I just love the ultra modern wedding cake and eye-catching stationery pieces – it’s all just gorgeous. Lovely Jenna from Wonderland Invites, who styled the shoot, is here to tell you more.
The Railway Barn at Newhall Vineyards in Essex is a perfect blank canvas venue. With whitewashed brick walls and concrete floors, the space allows for a bride and groom’s creativity to run wild. As a supplier, I wanted to showcase a modern, industrial styled shoot, to show a slightly different way in which the space could be used for a wedding.
The colour palette was chosen to convey an industrial feel; lots of greys, blacks and whites, with pops of green and aubergine to add a little warmth. Laura and Alex of Rock The Day managed the shoots styling wiith furniture being provided by Anthology Vintage Hire, including their new collection of old school chairs and bespoke tables with folding metal legs. Flowers and foliage were provided by A Vintage Wedding, and softened the overall styling. Rosie incorporated lush greens, whites and aubergines to fit the colour scheme.
Three cakes were created especially for the shoot by bakers, Lucky & Co; including two faux breezeblocks, which looked so realistic. The cakes were complemented by a mediterranean inspired grazing platter, along with a blini and dessert station, all styled by Linda Hamilton of Gather & Feast Events. Stationery, provided by myself (Wonderland Invites), incorporated the colour palette in a unique concertina style, and was paired with a gorgeous slate grey envelope tied with black cotton and a wax seal.
Rock The Frock Bridal kindly lent two pieces from their collection; the ‘Bianca’ two piece set and a classic dress, with a cowl back and beautiful sleeves. Amanda of AS Bridal Makeup paired natural, dewy skin with a bold lip to offset the sleek updo created by the talented Lisa Alger; a look which was highlighted with classic, face-framing waves. The model wore a birdcage and a drape veil, both by Sash & Veil along with bespoke hairpieces by PS. With Love.
Although the barn was fairly dark and very cold that day, Maryann (the photographer) was able to create such a light and airy vibe ensuring that nobody could tell that Jess, the model was, in fact, absolutely freezing!
