Sarah & Alex’s beautiful winter wedding in Chester, with Shane Webber Photography
I love this time of year: we’re moving slowly from featuring the best weddings of the summer to sharing our favourite autumn and winter weddings… and as the nights draw closer and we all remember our love for cosy jumpers, it’s really lovely to see winter weddings back on the blog!
I absolutely love Sarah and Alex’s Chester Town Hall wedding. They moved on to Oddfellows Chester for the reception – a fantastic venue set in the heart of Chester. It is a quirky hotel, in a grade II listed Georgian building.
The wedding cake is so striking – I love their brave choice of black icing and gold sugar flowers – so exquisite, different and beautiful. The sophisticated black and gold colour scheme throughout the day makes their wedding so unique – I love it.
Sarah did most of the planning herself and spent lots of time researching details etc – she was particularly fond of the invites and her bouquet! Despite the wedding being in December they were lucky enough to get beautiful golden light, and made use of the quirky features within the Oddfellows Hotel for their wedding photos – including the “Good Night” sign and the dual bath tubs! They provided glow sticks for all guests which lit up the dance floor with colour, and I love the last few shots in the blog post – it looks so much fun!!
Images are by lovely Shane Webber Photography. Shane’s a Manchester wedding photographer who shoots weddings throughout the northwest – and I love his style.
