The most romantic elopement ever – Nick & Kristina at Gretna Green, with Camilla Lucinda Photography

There’s something about an elopement – the romance of it all just gets me, every time! Nick and Kristina’s love just shines from the photos of their special day. There’s no nerves, none of the formality or embarrassment that being in front of a big crowd of people can sometimes bring. These two lovely people are joyful, blissfully happy from the moment we first see them – and yes, it makes me want to elope, right now, to Gretna Green!
“The fact it was just us 2 made it so incredibly special – we remember every single word of our wedding vows… Don’t lose sight of what getting married is all about. Being married is the same but everything is different! It’s hard to explain, but there is a deep and strong bond that exsists, that inextricably links you together forever.”
Huge thanks to lovely Camilla Lucinda Photography for sharing these beautiful moments with us today!

As we were eloping (we didn’t tell a soul what we were going to do!) – we really wanted someone to understand what we were up to and really capture the spirit of the day… I looked at so many photographers in the area close to Gretna but when we saw Camilla’s work we knew it felt right and she could provide exactly what we were looking for, to share our secret wedding with all our family and friends! Camilla was so easy to work with and understood everything we were doing! After I emailed her inititally with our query, she called me immediately and it was so nice to talk through our elopement with her! On the day we sometimes forgot she was there, she made us feel so relaxed! The first time we saw our photos we cried! They were absolutely incredible and took our breath away – they totally captured the spirit of the day…

“Nick & Kristina just have a wonderful story together. I found out that they met in a village pub, which she later found out was the exact pub her father asker her grandfather for her mother’s hand in marriage! …The whole time I spent with them you could tell that they’d planned this day just for them. For their wedding day to be only about their love for one another and to not be distracted from that fact with the classic big wedding.” ~ Camilla Lucinda Photography
As it was just us, we had hardly any suppliers! But Camilla recommended our florist Laura Tuer @ Greenwheat Flowers in Penrith, who made me and Nick the most beautiful bouquet & buttonhole – full of wild flowers and nods to Scotland…
