I know it’s too early to start talking about 2018 wedding trend predictions… but every time I see a shoot like this I want to sing from the rooftops! Darker colours are going to be big next year: we’ll see a dramatic shift from pastels and neutrals to really rich shades of everything. Midnight blues, moonlit greens and opulent plum colours with metallic accents are going to be the hottest trend going… and so today I’m thrilled to be sharing this gorgeous tablescape shoot by lovely Louise at One Stylish Day with you.

Moody Hues is dark, theatrical and bold, softened by layering deep shades of navy and mauve with black, and bathing the whole look in delicate candlelight. Create the look by using black crockery, gold cutlery and dark, elegant glassware, and team with long trailing black table linen to enhance the high drama effect.
Use seasonal foliage on tables with moody blooms and fresh figs dotted throughout, and place around the table décor to create a beautifully intertwined table runner with lots of expression.
Soften the dark colours with watercolour, a subtle way to bring in pattern, texture and colour. A soft washed indigo cake is dramatic and very beautiful. Mirror this colour combination in your stationery as this will be the first visual your guests will see, giving them a glimpse into a day that is going to be stylish, bold and creative.
