I messed up: this gorgeous wedding slipped through my net on the back of the most amazing wedding cake… and so we’re featuring an Australian wedding (first time!) on the English Wedding Blog. Oops! But oh, you’re going to love me for it, I promise!
See what I mean?!
While you may not be able to book the suppliers from Ailsa and Phil’s special day (unless you’re heading to Oz for a destination wedding, you lucky thing!) you will most certainly fall in love with all of the ideas from this stunning cinema wedding.
Images are by the pretty amazing On Three Photography, who are based in Melbourne. It’s the furthest wedding I’ve ever featured on the English Wedding Blog, but it’s worth breaking every rule for… I promise.
The flowers are rich and colourful; the light up letters are fabulous, the bride and groom are gorgeous and the landscapes (and seascapes) are out of this world.
Erica from On Three Photography told me Ailsa and Phillip’s country wedding was a gorgeous and vibrant celebration that took place on a famous war site. Ailsa wore a stunning gown by designer Mariana Hardwick and the reception featured a naked, upside down cake.
Ailsa and Phil are truly the most gorgeous couple. Both are so hilarious and lovely, that it was an absolute pleasure working for them. However, I also just cannot forget the weather of that wedding. I’ve never attended a wedding with such bi-polar conditions before. It was about 42 degrees that day, and we were all so worried that being an outdoor ceremony, it would make the day unbearable. That was until it started completely flooding halfway through the ceremony and everyone had to bring out the umbrellas or hide under the trees. It did make for some gorgeous shots though.
Ailsa and Phil’s reception venue was perfect. It was actually in the local town’s movie theater which made for some pretty interesting shots, and their use of spot lighting also worked beautifully with their copper décor. The fact that we could get some gorgeous shots in the movie theater was also a bonus!
“OnThree – thank you so much for capturing our magical day! The team was amazing to have around; I feel like you guys are a part of our family now. The photos could not have been more perfect, and Phil and I will be treasuring them for life.” ~ Ailsa & Phil
