Seeing all of your table plans fascinates me: I’ve already decided I’d be on the Prodigy table for this one… although the choice is fantastic! Nonetheless today’s is a celebration where music really mattered, and it sounds as though the band playing at Stacey and Roger’s festival wedding outshone any of the famous names on the table plan! Today’s is a fab theme, and a gorgeous autumn wedding: I hope you love it as much as I do!

“Carol blended in with the wedding guests and captured fantastic photos of them all enjoying the day. Although the posed and group shots are beautiful and just what we wanted, some of our favourites are those where people are blissfully unaware of her presence! She captured so many magical moments that we missed throughout the day.”
“We found the vinyl templates online and made everything else ourselves. It took a bit of time but the end results were definitely worth it as our guests commented that they’d not seen anything like it before!”

Wedding photographer’s website:
How did you choose your photographer?
We met at a Guides for Brides Wedding Fair at Lains Barn.
Were you pleased with your wedding photographer? Do tell… we love a brilliant review!
We thought Carol was amazing! We were both nervous about being photographed on our wedding day but the engagement shoot we had with her before the wedding was just what we needed to settle our nerves. We giggled our way through it and by the end felt more at ease and ready for the big day! On the wedding day itself, we both really enjoyed the photos! Carol blended in with the wedding guests and captured fantastic photos of them all enjoying the day. Although the posed and group shots are beautiful and just what we wanted, some of our favourites are those where people are blissfully unaware of her presence! She captured so many magical moments that we missed throughout the day.
Tell us about the moment you saw your wedding photos for the first time?
Very excited! Typically of us, we giggled our way through the photos initially! Looking through them together for a second time brought back so many fond memories of the day and we couldn’t help but sit with beaming smiles on our faces.

Can you describe your wedding in fewer than 10 words?
Rustic, relaxed, festival inspired, a truly magical day – perfect!
Your wedding style or theme:
We both adore going to music festivals so decided to loosely use this as our theme. We had wellies on the tables with our vinyl records as table names alongside a table plan in the style of the Reading Festival line-up – a festival we attended for years together. We used our favourite bands for table names and hired a fab live band too to finish it all off!
Where did you find your suppliers and inspiration? (Blogs, magazines, recommendations?)
Wedding magazines and hitched.co.uk originally but in the last 3-6 months, Pinterest was amazing for finding different creative ideas – many an hour spent pinning! We also used several suppliers recommended by the venue.
What’s your top tip for saving money?
DIY projects for the wedding saved us quite a bit of money and using the high street for Bridal Party outfits saved us a fortune!
… and which elements of your wedding are you glad you spent more on?
The food supplied by Lains was amazing – all our guests loved the ‘Pie Master’ option – it created a real buzz during the reception! We hired a live band which a must for our ‘Festival’ inspired theme.
Where did you buy or source your wedding stationery – or was making it a labour of love?
Definitely a labour of love! We found the vinyl templates online and made everything else ourselves. It took a bit of time but the end results were definitely worth it as our guests commented that they’d not seen anything like it before!
Did you fall in love with your wedding dress?
Yes! As soon as I tried it on, I knew it was ‘the’ dress! Rochelle at the boutique was amazing – really helpful and relaxed. I felt stunning on the day and it was just what I was looking for.
Wedding dress designer and bridal boutique:
I found it at a boutique called ‘Something Old Something New’ in Caversham which sells sample and pre-loved gowns.
Tell us about your accessories: jewellery, shoes, perfume and anything else!
As our bridesmaids were wearing navy blue, one of them suggested I wear navy blue shoes to match them and also they’d be my something blue too! I found a beautiful pair from Pink by Paradox. My parents bought me my wedding jewellery – Sapphire and diamond earrings with a Sapphire necklace. I had a veil and belt by Richard Designs which both completed the overall look perfectly!
And what did the groom wear? Any recommendations for tailors?
He has always known what he wanted for the big day and found it in Moss Bros after using their internet site. He chose a navy blue tails, charcoal and black pinstripe trousers with a white tie. Moss Bros offer a groom goes free package which comes in useful when paying for eight suits!
Beautiful bridesmaids: what did your best girls wear?
We always knew we wanted them to wear navy blue and the dresses found in Debenhams were absolutely beautiful. Knee length and embellished with subtle gems to give an added sparkle! Despite choosing the bridesmaid and flower girl dresses before my own dress, they matched perfectly!
Hair and make-up – did you DIY or hire a professional?
My hair was done by my usual hairdresser. We discussed possible styles and I showed her several pictures on Pinterest and she went from there! She totally understood exactly what I was after so it was definitely worthwhile popping into the salon to get her to do it. As for make-up, the beautician I wanted was unable to do my wedding day but instead gave my sister and I a make-up lesson a few weeks before the day. Fortunately my sister is brilliant at this kind of thing and we practiced lots to make sure we knew what to do on the big day!
Describe your wedding flowers. Who arranged them for you? (florist details would be lovely please)
Our personal flowers (bouquets and buttonholes) were done by a family friend. We chose pale roses, gypsophila and blue eryngium (sea holly). The venue flowers were created by Hilary at Flower in Ardington. She is one of the florists recommended by Lains Barn and we wanted someone who knew the venue well to add the minimal touches we wanted.
General styling – did your venue need much decoration?
We fell in love with the barn because of its natural rustic beauty. The fairy lights and cream drapes were all the decoration we felt it needed.
Crafts and makes – tell us about any homemade elements of your wedding… did you enjoy them?
We made all of our own stationery, put together Halloween sweetie bags and letter stamped our place names. I adored the DIY elements of the day and had originally planned to do much much more but sadly we didn’t have the time!
The wedding cake: what kind of cake did you choose and why?
We chose a naked cake topped with fresh berries as we felt it suited the venue perfectly. Peach’s Bakery were amazing as the info we gave them was very sketchy with an added request to use jam made by the groom’s parents – Divneet was very accommodating and went the extra mile for us – highly recommended!
Entertainment: any musical recommendations, surprises or treats?
We booked ‘The Vents’ for an acoustic afternoon session during the reception drinks and canapes, evening entertainment and they also did the DJ set late into the night too! We were blessed with sun in the afternoon and the acoustic set was beautiful, we couldn’t wait to see the full band in the evening!
On the day tips and advice:
Everyone says it goes so quickly and it really does – enjoy every minute!
What’s the best thing about being married?
Having been together for 8 years, finally making it official and sharing it with our little girl was perfect!
What was your favourite moment?
The ceremony was our favourite moment. After 8 years, it was wonderful to make it official. It felt very special and felt like we were the only ones in the room!
Where did you go on honeymoon?
We had a mini moon in Dorset but plan to head abroad for a honeymoon next year.
