Richly coloured calligraphy for a warming winter wedding

I designed these invitations for something entirely different, but don’t you think they’re perfect for a winter wedding? As January looms and the days are crisp and frosty we’re all looking for warming colours: plum and gold are perfect for this time of year. Add a few gold accents and some wonderfully soft duck egg blues… this is styling heaven. If you’re considering colours to warm your winter wedding, this palette is all kinds of magical.

Invitations and stationery which have that unique, personal touch are the very best you can buy. For intimate weddings I recommend calligraphy: whether you order handwritten invitations or envelope addressing, your guests will adore the hand lettered touch.

For a larger wedding it’s more cost effective to have your invitations printed, but you can still add beautiful lettering. Choose handwritten place names, escort cards or even envelope addressing for your invites. I offer all of these services to my couples on my other website Calligraphy for Weddings.

It will very soon be time for 2016 brides and grooms to book wedding stationery – and wedding invitation designers around the UK will be getting ready for a rush of orders and enquiries in January. My top tip for all of you is not to leave it too late: you might be surprised how soon invitation designers’ diaries are filled up!

Booking a calligrapher is the same: from January my inbox is bursting with enquiries about envelope addressing and adding names to letterpress or printed invitations. December is the very best time to get in touch: hello@Calligraphy-for-Weddings.com

The shoot has featured on Love My Dress, and also on So You’re Getting Married – both my favourite UK wedding blogs!

The wedding blog features have a distinct autumn flavour… but elements from the styling will make a wonderful winter look. I’ve shared a select few of my favourite wintry images from the shoot below. Isn’t it beautiful? And aren’t you just a little tempted to style your winter celebration this way?
