I love letters. Writing has always been my life: from a secret love of spelling tests to language studies and then calligraphy… so I absolutely adore the striking look of light up letters. I have something very special for you (ok, for me!! but I know you’ll love it too!) this Friday morning 🙂
Coordinated by the super organised and undeniably talented McAvoy Wedding Photography and featuring a fantastic weekday collaboration of local wedding supplier talent, today’s fabulously decadent photo shoot was an event that Words To Glow were only too delighted to contribute to. Featuring a beautiful seaside location, a wonderfully decadent hotel and oodles of sophistication to boot, what was not to love about this little beauty!
On the day of the shoot itself, the sun shone brightly and the dream team were lucky enough to be able to shoot in various locations, both inside and outside the Midland Hotel. Situated right on the curve of Morecambe’s seafront, the hotel was built in 1933 and as such maintains a distinct Art Deco feel to its interior and thus provided the initial inspiration behind the day’s shoot.
Taking further inspiration from the colours of the sea, the brief for the day prescribed subtle hues of silver, turquoise, blush, and white with a liberal injection of Hollywood style and glamour; rather than following a seaside theme with all that it entails. The floral bouquets were both simple but elegant, and included a purple clematis bouquet and a pussy willow and hydrangea bouquet.
Specialising in hand crafted, vintage 4ft x 2ft light up letters and illuminated signage for weddings, special occasions and corporate parties and events, Words To Glow create beautiful and bespoke lighting, specifically tailored to your individual requirements. Creating the ultimate in romantic wedding backdrops, their beautiful and sparkly light up letters for hire can create the most perfect ambience for your wedding vows, or provide the ultimate sparkly lighting for your party dance floor.
Made of quality materials and finished to an extremely high standard, the light up letters can be used in any way to provide the additional WOW factor to your party celebrations. Light up letters for hire include LOVE or MR & MRS for a romantic wedding celebration, DANCE to really get your guests in the mood to party, or simply your initials and a heart to spell out your love and commitment to one another on the most important day of your life.

Following the 1920’s Hollywood glamour feel, vintage inspired hair and makeup was provided by Sarah Heys MUA and hair stylist. Sarah Heys is a freelance hairdresser who has been in the hair and beauty industry for over 18 years. Sarah specialises in bridal and occasional hair and makeup. Sarah covers the North West, including Lancashire, Cheshire, Manchester and Cumbria.
The beautiful floral arrangements, glamorous sequinned table displays and crystal candelabras adorning The Eric Grill were created by Verdure Floral Design, and were perfectly in keeping with the 1920’s decadent theme. Verdure’s award winning floral design team used a varied array of floral, plant, and natural materials to create the stunning arrangements seen here. Based in Salford Quays, Manchester, Verdure create everything from button holes & bouquets to stunning table decorations and whole venue dressing for the happy couple.
The mouth wateringly and delectable wedding cake provided for the shoot was provided by Caroline of Caroline’s Cake Company. Closely following the colour scheme for the day and featuring iridescent pastel blue icing, silver sequins and delicate rose ruffles, this was one of two cakes provided on the day. Based in South Manchester, Caroline’s Cake Company offer a bespoke design service for your big day. With a range of gorgeous flavours and fillings such as chocolate mud cake with chocolate ganache filling and tropical carrot or luscious lemon cake to choose from, Caroline specialises in creative, custom designed and contemporary celebration cakes.
For the final shots of the day, Jenny of McAvoy Photography moved outdoors to take advantage of the fabulous scenery right on the hotel’s doorstep. Offering simply beautiful and emotive photography, Jenny has a passion for glamorous, yet fun photography. Adding accessories such as a beautiful, handcrafted floor length vintage lace veil from DreamVeils and a picture perfect brolly from Love Umbrellas, Jenny seamlessly created what proved to be a truly romantic masterpiece.
Certainly, Jenny’s attention to detail can be seen in the array of complementary colours seen throughout this shoot; but no more so than in the outdoor photographs, where the blue of the sky to the pastel pink of the parasol and the faded turquoise of the upturned fisherman’s boat are simply heavenly.
