It’s this kind of creative thinking I love best about UK couples! And creativity is a key part of their wedding style too: Kristen and Adam put so much into styling their wedding with DIY invitations and details – they did an amazing job and the overall look of the day is wonderful.
Kristen is a stunning bride, wearing a gown by Sophia Tolli with Vivienne Westwood pearls and shoes by Rainbow Club. She’s radiant in the winter sunshine and looks so incredibly happy with new husband Adam – the perfect English bride and groom.

Hair and make-up – did you DIY or hire a professional?
We took over half a hair salon for the morning – they were so amazing with my difficult thick hair!
Baby blue and cream anemones, roses and hyacinths. All prepared by our florist Sarah.
What do you remember most about the wedding ceremony?
Walking down the aisle, I was so excited and although I hate being the centre of attention, I was overjoyed to see all the people who came to support us on our special day.
Corinthians 13 – the most generic wedding reading but says everything.
General styling – did your venue need much decoration?
Not really it was perfect, the marble ‘vine room’ was so beautiful and homely with the roaring fire (we put a flower garland on top of the fire place) so everyone could warm up while waiting for dinner. Then moved into the orangery which needed very little decoration as it brought the outdoors inside with plants and lovely twinkly lights.
The wedding cake: traditional or quirky?
Traditional fruit cake with some untraditional layers of lemon sponge and carrot cake – baked by my very good friend 🙂 With a cheese cake (Local English cheeses) later on in the evening.
We really wanted a band and the band that we had were fabulous (Cheesecake!) They got everyone up and dancing and even had a fiddler! They were so lovely and even learned our first dance song and performed it perfectly.
My husband’s ‘musical boot’ also made an appearance which was very amusing for guests.
On the day tips and advice:
Don’t stress and just enjoy the day – have faith that everything will turn out well because even if things go wrong you’ll still have the most amazing day.
What’s the best thing about being married?
Being able to spend every day with your best friend 🙂
