A friend of mine asked me last weekend which was the best wedding I’d seen recently, and I forgot to tell her about this one. For me personally, this is pretty unbeatable and it’s all down to the location chosen by beautiful bride Emma and her husband Tom. They married on the spectacular Isle of Skye and really made the most of their surroundings with their wedding photography.
What struck me when I first saw this wedding is Emma’s bridal look: she wears her hair up for the ceremony and looks fabulous, but standing looking out across the Isle of Skye for the portrait photos later with her hair loose she is one of the most beautiful brides I’ve ever seen. Her secret? Keeping it real – falling in love with the landscape, choosing a location which literally means the world to her and Tom, and being herself.
Images of this gorgeous wedding are from Rosie at Love Skye Photography. Rosie told me, “One of the things that really struck me about this wedding was its intimacy and the close friends the couple surrounded themselves with. One of the girls not only made Emma’s dress (it included a heart shaped piece of her grandmother’s wedding dress sewn into the bodice) but also did her make up on the day. The venue was Eilean Iarmain hotel http://www.eileaniarmain.co.uk/ and Bee Bonnie http://www.beebonnie.co.uk/ was the wedding hairdresser. The hotel also owns a distillery and provided the whisky for the tasting at the reception.”
Emma and Tom – a beautiful wedding on the incredible Isle of Skye
This was a relaxed and magical wedding celebration with friends and family staying on the Isle of Skye for a week with the bride and groom. “As the west coast weather closed in after the wedding ceremony everyone dashed back to the hotel for afternoon tea by a roaring fire and a very welcome whisky tasting. Huddling inside that evening we decided to make the most of the amazing Skye scenery with an after wedding shoot a couple of days later. What a wonderful decision. The relaxed and romantic portraits created on a sunny Skye Monday set the seal on this beautiful wedding.” Rosie, Love Skye Photography
