Good morning beautiful! We’re having a week full of fabulous wedding photography and I’m loving the dreamy images gracing my screen! Today I’d like to introduce Howling Basset – one of the leading wedding photographers in London and Kent, and named after photographer Andy Stonier’s basset hound Flash!

Andy’s style combines natural, fun and simply beautiful, timeless images. He’s photographed around 1,200 weddings so has a wealth of experience and covers London, Kent and the south of England. He’s been a full time London wedding photographer since 2004, and a professional photographer for 25 years. His portfolio includes weddings all over the UK, and the reviews on his website make for a very impressive read. I will hand over to Andy to tell you all about Howling Basset Photography. Don’t forget to check out his website and show him some love on Instagram and Facebook too!

The first thing I noticed about Hannah was her smile: that beautiful, overjoyed, beaming smile – it’s how every bride should look on her wedding day. She’s stunning.

Add to that her gorgeous groom, the lovely, delicate winter styling with pine cones, the super pretty textured bouquets, the wonderful venue that is Chilston Park, and the superb photos – and I instantly knew I had to share this wedding with you.

I hear so many opinions about wedding blogs, ranging quite fascinatingly from good to bad to even worse. Blogs are powerful; they can make a wedding business (and in at least one instance, have had the occasion to break one). And their influence on brides and grooms, on wedding trends and even spending habits, is pretty strong.

It’s something I try really hard to be aware of. I try never to push ideas onto readers: styling a wedding and finding suppliers should be all about personal choice. I can share things I love, suggest suppliers I admire, but I’d never say you ‘need’ anything for your wedding which is really only optional.

I love wedding blogs.

I think they’re a harmless dose of pretty, a relaxing and enjoyable read with extra eye candy, and often feature superb advice from real couples alongside expert tips from the loveliest wedding suppliers. They’re a beautiful and helpful place to be!

I lied a little… Andy from Howling Basset Photography has been a sponsor of the English Wedding Blog before, and I’m delighted to say he’s back with us for the winter! So many couples start looking for their wedding photographer between September and March – it’s the perfect time to hook you up with great wedding photographers and I’m hoping to have lots of Andy’s real weddings from the summer to share with you soon!

This level of wedding experience means I’m calm, professional and unobtrusive, helping me to best capture the full story on your biggest day. I simply love what I do; being part of and capturing the biggest day in a couple’s life is both an honour and rare privilege.”

A rustic, messy winter bouquet with succulents and mixed colours, roses, seedheads, berries and lots of lush green leaves… A beautiful bride in a simple, straight gown with lace detailing and a shrug to stave off winter’s bite… A handsome groom wearing a Proper Suit (and I mean – awesome styling!) and quirky bow tie… and one of East Sussex’s most charming wedding venues.

Sam and Jason were married in Kent at The Secret Garden wedding venue just outside Ashford. This is a really special little venue – the ceremony was held in the Glass House, a gorgeous sunny spot for intimate weddings with its very own views across the secret garden itself. Today’s bride Sam is simply stunning – I adore her hair ornament and those gorgeous curls, don’t you?

Today’s real wedding has a wonderful wintry theme. Sam’s bouquet of pine cones and silver ferns is perfect for this time of year, and has a delicate sparkle – essential for any winter wedding day! The reception continues in beautiful winter style with pine cone place settings for every guest – such a pretty idea.

Amy and Grant were married in Kent in an intimate ceremony for family and friends, and chose a pretty style with classic and vintage elements to make their wedding day really personal. Amy’s dress is ever so pretty, with a lace bodice and delicate sparkle around the neckline with a jewelled belt. She accessorised it beautifully with a birdcage veil and feather, and silver drop earrings.

Amy’s flowers were classic pink roses with gypsophila – simple but pretty and colourful. The venue was decorated with tissue paper poms and streamers strung across the ceremony room – a key theme for 2014 and always eye-catching and decorative – I think it looks lovely. Kelly and Sean’s wedding was fabulous, and I adore the bright and colourful styling of everything from Kelly’s bouquet to the tiered wedding cake with lemons all around – it just looks so lovely. Anyone fancy a slice of summer this morning? I do too… 🙂

Howling Basset was the Kent wedding photographer for Katie and Aaron’s lovely country wedding. They were married at St Peter & St Paul’s Church in Borden and then over to the delightful Frasers Coldharbour Farm for the reception. It was important to them that all the suppliers used and decorations etc were sourced within the UK. The boys’ suits were especially cool; Aaron wanted tweed but with a summer wedding it’s just too heavy a material so after scouring the country he found a bespoke tailor in Walsall to make their suits. Very dapper indeed.

Katie and Aaron had a beautiful woodland engagement shoot last year – you can click here to see some of their engagement photos but for today I hope you’ll enjoy this perfect eco friendly Kent wedding!

Salmestone Grange wedding of Charlotte and Richard

The wonderful Salmestone Grange in Margate Kent was the setting for Charlotte and Richard’s big day. They married in the ancient, small and intimate Salmestone Chapel then after photos it was off to nearby Manston for the reception in a friend’s garden. Two marquees one for the food and the other for the entertainment, oh and a home built Gin Palace too.
