We spend an average of eighteen months planning a wedding – and the day itself is over in the blink of an eye. Imagine if you could spend just a little more time in your dress; have a few tranquil moments to enjoy being a bride again, after your wedding day.

Beautiful bride Faye spent a little time with one of the loveliest photographers I know – Kathryn Hopkins – doing just that. They went along to Great Ashfield House for a post-bridal shoot and captured a romantic set of images, taking time to make more memories for Faye of her bridal style and dress.

Weddings are so fast paced with little time to dedicate to one element during the day, so it is really lovely to be able to spend a couple of hours just documenting the bride’s style and dress after the wedding day.  I definitely recommend any bride treating themselves to a day of pampering on set and enjoying their dress again before it gets packed away forever.” ~ Kathryn Hopkins

Happy Sunday lovelies! I hope you’re looking forward to a relaxing day – but before you head out anywhere, I have one of the loveliest summer weddings to inspire you today! Jess & Jon’s wedding took place at a pretty Surrey church with a reception at the beautiful Ewshot Hall in Farnham. It was an elegant but relaxed country house wedding with a beautiful colour palette of soft muted greys, whites and pinks.

Gill Pike was my florist. She is amazing. I gave her my themes and colours and let her work her magic with very little input. The flower arch looked stunning.

Gemma from Harper’s Events was in charge of decorating the venue. All of the guests commented on how elegant it looked, we loved the big illuminating letters.
We also had Victoria from Extremely Lovely Weddings decorate the venue. She was so creative and had beautiful fake trees which made such a difference to the look of the room. Victoria also provided extra bits such as a DIY photobooth , basket of flip flops and a basket of blankets for outside. We would highly recommend these suppliers to anyone getting married.

If I can bring a smile to your face this morning I’ll be so happy… and with the amazing wedding I have up my sleeve I’m feeling pretty confident 🙂 Caroline & David’s wedding is wonderful: a riot of colour and fun, and I adore the flowers and how the gorgeous bride and groom styled the venue for their day. There are so many glorious details and I love the portraits of the bride and groom as well, they just look so perfect together!

From the first meeting with Caroline & David I loved their relaxed vibe. At the time of planning their wedding they were moving back from Australia to England, applying for new jobs as well as finding a home, I mean WOW, that’s all kinds of busy but they were chilled and I knew it was going to be an awesome day because of them. This followed through into the engagement shoot as well, it unexpectedly rained quite badly and we were doing piggybacks and all sorts during it, they didn’t care, that’s my kind of couple!” ~ Lissa Alexandra

Today’s fabulously beautiful wedding is going to be a favourite for 2016 – I can see it now. The handcrafted touches are wonderful, and I am SO impressed with gorgeous bride Laura’s lettering and wedding signs! (I’m teaching a calligraphy workshop today and seeing people learn to write like this is one of my favourite things!)

Chris and Laura planned their wedding over 2 years: “Having such a long time to plan the wedding had its pros and cons. We had time to source amazing suppliers and spend hours swooning over gorgeous weddings. However, I did get slightly overwhelmed with the sheer volume of wonderful ideas out there.”

The flowers are another huge highlight of the day:I spent a long time searching the internet for a local florist that created wedding flowers that had a bohemian, unstructured feel to them. Helen from The Flower Mill completely saw my vision for the flowers. They just pulled everything together and were definitely the focal point we were looking for!”
