I stumbled across Belle & Bunty‘s instagram the other day: a haven for sassy brides looking to avoid the ‘delicate flower’ bridal style and embrace something more relaxed and fashion-aware: dare I say ballsy?

Put it this way: There’s absolutely no reason why you can’t find a wedding outfit that feels like YOU. No need to change your style because the wedding industry wants you in a corseted bodice / trailing gown / fitted white lace wotsit. And if you’re also looking for an eco-aware brand with genuine ethics and a commitment to sustainability, girl you are in the right place! Belle & Bunty’s gorgeous dresses can even be made in vegan fabrics… which ticks every little box for me.

It’s almost the weekend and we have another gorgeous wedding to share with you – this time, sent in by my lovely friends at The Little Paper Shop in Cheshire! I can’t introduce this blog post without plugging my modern calligraphy classes at this gorgeous wedding & paper boutique – it’s in Nantwich, and I’ll be there on the 7th of September for beginners modern calligraphy and brush pen lettering workshops – come and join me if you can!

Now as well as being the creative whirlwind and owner of The Little Paper Shop, Cara is a talented wedding photographer. She captured Liz and Andrew’s Shropshire wedding for them, and I’m thrilled to be sharing it with you today!

Our midweek wedding is a blissful, breathtaking, glorious celebration of love at Nottingham’s Carriage Hall. Stephanie and Peter were married in April, which they chose as a time of new beginnings – and the perfect month to start their married life! The lovely couple always knew they wanted a humanist wedding ceremony: “Humanism celebrates the idea that we have one life to lead, so we need to live it in the here and now, that we need to make the most of life’s beauty and riches every day; it focuses on the goodness of humanity and community, family and friends; and the importance of love.

Did you see yesterday’s elopement inspiration feature? (check it out here) I mentioned one of my best friends eloped last week: I’m so thrilled for her and her husband! And I have to confess, if me and my guy were to tie the knot, we’d elope. Because I just love the romance of it all: the escape, the shared secret, the adventure. So I wanted to write a little something to inspire all of you considering an elopement.
