Just a couple of days before lockdown was announced, beautiful bride Jemma married her handsome man Antony at the Old Marylebone Town Hall. This is a really special day and I’m proud to be able to share it with you. There were just two witnesses, Jemma’s mother, the celebrant and their photographer Sarah. Because of coronavirus, sadly some guests were no longer able to attend.

I’m a HUGE fan of blues in wedding decor, and I love today’s feature to bits! The soft blue tones are just wonderful, and the photography absolutely perfect. I need all those fabulous florals in my life right now!

As joint co-ordinators, hair stylist Jennie and photographer Laura came up with the concept for the shoot, which took place at Apton Hall in Essex. They focused primarily on the Pantone colour of the year – blue, and the idea of hinting toward an eco-friendly wedding. They began involving other wedding suppliers and the idea behind an environmental wedding grew into this beauty of an editorial. I’ll hand over to the girls to tell you more!

Two things – when I stop giggling. Two quite important things –

1) this is actually genuinely REALLY beautiful and

2) injecting a little bit of happy chuckling into any lockdown day is the best thing you can possibly do. It’s definitely what solid-haired Rachel & Rowan did on their wedding day last week, in the company of Yorkshire wedding photographer Andy Matheson.

They’re the best-looking Lego couple we’ve EVER featured here on English Wedding, and despite a few mishaps (Rowan slipped and fell on the lentil-confetti, but don’t worry: he was ok) their day is – and now I’m NOT laughing: really, truly, beautifully captured!

It’s been a while since I’ve said hello properly – but I know there are plenty of you out there planning your weddings for 2021 – so Hi! Welcome to English Wedding. I hope you are enjoying being here with us! Can I show you The English Wedding Directory this morning? It’s our curated list of brilliant wedding vendors, and it’s full of brilliant photographers, stationers, planners and stylists… everything you might need for the wedding of your dreams!

I read somewhere this morning that the average age for getting married is now 35 for women and 38 for men – which means plenty of us are tying the knot past the age of 40. Let’s celebrate that today, shall we? I’d love to see more wedding editorial with a wider age range… because this is an absolute BEAUTY of a shoot. As always with lovely Noemi from Thyme Lane Photography, the shoot focuses on the core of what’s important in marriage – and this is right up my street.
