Sometimes you see an image which stays in your mind for the whole day. I get it all the time – looking at the fabulous yellow flowers from today’s real wedding I find myself feeling as though summer has barely begun! (Can you believe it’s November already?!)

Today’s gorgeous bride Rebecca told me she LOVED having the opportunity for photos with her ponies… so let’s begin with one of those, shall we? This is the perfect introduction to a gorgeous Lake District wedding with a real countryside atmosphere and pretty homemade styling.

Luke and Rebecca are today’s fabulous couple, who married in May at Lowick Green. Many of their suppliers are local; ideas came from Rebecca’s love of Pinterest and so many of the details were a labour of love with special help from both mums!

I asked Rebecca what she feels is the best thing about being married, and she told me “Just being together, it’s such a lovely comfortable, blissful feeling“. How beautiful is that?

Later today we’re heading for the wedding tent at Kirstie Allsopp’s second Handmade Fair – and we’re ridiculously excited about the whole thing! Before we go, I have a superb wedding to share with you all. You’ll LOVE this! We’re talking English sophistication, classy styling and elegant touches in a magnificent venue: Pendrell Hall. The bride is beautiful; the entire day just makes me feel happy.

Pendrell Hall wedding blog by Rob and Sarah Gillespie Photography (14)

Tim and Nerissa give a glowing review for their photographers Rob & Sarah Gillespie. It’s interesting to hear how a husband and wife photography team can bring so much to your wedding: for today’s bride and groom this was one of the (many!) reasons they chose Rob and Sarah as their wedding photographers. “Due to their vast wedding experience they were able to help and advise us as to what photos worked well and the timings for the day which really helped. We would highly recommend Rob and Sarah!

Two beautiful brides, four lovely bridesmaids in pink and four in blue… the most incredible bouquets and a day full of creativity and love. Today’s real wedding is one of my favourites this year and I just know you’ll love it too…

Old Rectory wedding photography by Taylor Hughes (8)

Wedding signs and slogans are best when they’re just that little bit different… so when I read ‘Choose a seat not a side, either way it’s for the BRIDE!’ it made me grin. A lot. Jessica and Fiona are a gorgeous couple whose wedding at The Old Rectory in Handsworth has plenty of lovely personal touches just like this.

Fiona told me “the best thing [about being married] is the support from friends and family. Throughout planning the wedding, the Big Day itself and day-to-day life since we have been overwhelmed by the encouragement and support we’ve had and it has made us appreciate the joy of true friendship.”

I’m all for bicycles on a wedding cake, signature skateboards (only write on the wood, folks!) and wellies tied to pew ends. Today’s is a wedding with a super cute sense of humour and a gorgeous – I mean stunning! – bride and groom.

wedding blog Will Reddaway Photography (23)

Jen and Rob were married in Torquay in spring (hence the wellies – they expected rain!) and held their reception at the fabulous Torre Abbey. I adore Jen’s bridal look: her lace dress was bought at a wedding show and is from Silk Brides in Lichfield. Rob and Jen found suppliers online, through recommendations and had help with lots of DIY projects from friends and family.

The lovely flowers are by a family friend and stationery was designed by Rob. Signage on the day was made by a friend too – Jen’s told us all about the DIY elements of their day in her English Wedding Blog interview at the end of the feature today.

Today’s real wedding is the prettiest treat for your eyes… with the softest pastel shades and loveliest couple. We’re talking dreamy decor and delicious design from the Wroxeter Hotel in Shropshire – and you’ll love it!

Wroxeter Hotel wedding in Shropshire with Andy Li Photography (44)

Claire and Oliver married in May and styled their wedding as an afternoon tea party. They loved the idea of tea and cake for their reception instead of a formal wedding breakfast, and chose the pastel shades to give a real spring flavour to their day.

The gorgeous couple sourced suppliers with help from Pinterest and recommendations, and tried to support local businesses wherever possible (which makes me very happy!). Claire made as many decorations as she could: hand painted initials, handwritten place names and a super pretty table plan were all her handiwork.

If there’s still time, try and visit your wedding venue a year before your big day. Explore the gardens, enjoy the flowers… take a few selfies in the beautiful grounds to look back upon. Today’s wedding has some of the most amazing images with beautiful blooms and the backdrop of a magnificent venue… I just think there would be something magical about exploring your venue with 12 months to go, and picturing yourselves there in the gardens with the same flowers – and your wedding dress.

If you have time, try it!

Yulia and Leigh married at gorgeous Ashridge House in Berkhamstead, a 19th century neo-gothic mansion with a history as a royal residence, a monastery and finishing school. The venue is magnificent and only hosts a limited number of weddings each year.

Gorgeous couple Emma and Matt had the perfect English country wedding – the dried flowers and Matt’s tailored tweed suit complete the countryside theme. The bouquet and flowers are a real highlight, and I love the stationery – all handmade by Emma, who sourced lots of her supplies and suppliers online.

I’ve loved reading all about today’s wedding and I’d recommend you grab a cuppa and take ten minutes for it all to sink in. Emma’s stories and advice are spot on – I love her approach to the wedding cake: it was cake, all cake and nothing but a cake, and it was fabulous. Oh and the flower girls, who she picked up in Monsoon (almost)!

This summer – already! – I’ve been blessed with so many gorgeous weddings from photographers who’ve never submitted to the English Wedding Blog before. I’d like to say a huge thank you to you all, as without you wedding blogs simply wouldn’t exist. You’re the best. Did you guess today I have a wedding from a lovely photographer who is new to the English Wedding Blog? Lovely Nick Beal Photography shared Tim and Amy’s country farm wedding with me and I simply had to show you… they created the loveliest farm wedding and they’re such a gorgeous couple!

Tim and Amy’s wedding was a local, relaxed celebration at a farm in Kent. They decorated a marquee with lots of handmade touches – and hours of creativity from family and friends – to make an eye-catching and super pretty backdrop for their reception. This wedding is fabulous.

Morning beautiful! I hope you’re in the mood for lots and lots and LOTS of wedding loveliness… because I have far too many gorgeous images to show you this morning. You might need two cups of tea. Nicola and Russell’s rustic spring wedding is just wonderful!

After a lovely church service Nicola and Russell headed to Blake Hall for their reception, which blended rustic detailing with traditional elements for a perfectly pretty but super stylish wedding look.

Nicola and Russell found suppliers locally and online. Before the big day Nicola used Pinterest for ideas and then looked for local suppliers who could turn her styling ideas into reality. It worked like a dream… come see!

Kelly and Joe got married on my birthday back in May, and celebrated in style (as did I!) – they chose to hire Alston Hall for a 5 day festival-inspired celebration with friends and family. Kelly is beautiful – I love how she describes buying her wedding dress and the resulting snow blindness… don’t skip on the English Wedding Blog interview [at the end of today’s feature] for that one!

Festival wedding in Devon by Evolve Photography (28)

The gorgeous couple found their wedding suppliers online, and through friends and local businesses too. Many details are home made too: the stationery was a labour of love; the pompoms, lanterns and fairy lights were all done by friends and family.

The most impressive DIY aspect of today’s wedding blog is the food though: Kelly’s friend Kirsty runs her own catering business and helped design the menu for the wedding. Kelly told me, “we hired her sister and a friend to work as the chefs. Our poor friends then helped with all the prep for the day to serve 150 people!”

Here Comes The Bride… as tunes go this one’s a classic, and generally expected as the bride enters, right? So how about the James Bond theme tune for the groom to walk down the aisle?! I LOVE this idea as I love so many things about Carla and James’s Thornton Manor wedding.
