An ultra glamorous black tie wedding in Devon, with elegant styling touches and a breathtaking venue. Our award-winning wedding photographer friends Andrew and Agnieszka from Younger Photography, Devon captured the most incredible images from Rachel and Duncan’s day. The atmosphere is fabulous, the day looks incredible and we’re in love with Kingston Estate! Rachel looks amazing in her Suzanne Neville dress, with Duncan’s dark green velvet jacket from Moss Bros creating such a striking look for a groom. I have to mention the flowers: Rachel’s mum is a talented paper flower artist at L’Art du Papier, and the hand made roses she created for the table centrepieces are absolutely breathtaking.

A vibrant and colourful, super happy and beautiful Jewish wedding in Surrey with gorgeous flowers and stationery, and an adorable couple. The images by lovely GK Photography are sublime, Cara and Richard look amazing, and if you scroll all the way down you’ll see an epic photobomb which has kept me grinning all morning!

How did you choose your photographer?

We actually found him through Instagram via his partner who i’d been following for a little while. We were looking for images that were really natural & really bright & colourful & Greg seemed to tick all the boxes

One year… for so many reasons, it’s hard to believe it’s been a full twelve months since our lovely couple Rebecca & Tom celebrated their wedding – literally, the last wedding before lockdown. They married on the 29th of February, 2020 – an elegant and glitzy wedding in London. Rebecca is stunning in a Nicole Milano dress, and Tom’s Charles Tyrwhitt suit is perfect for their black tie occasion. Their cake is a beauty; the stationery exquisite and florals divine (Rebecca’s bouquet featured in our ‘20 best bouquets‘ piece a couple of weeks ago!) – All images are by our friend and talented London wedding photographer Amanda Karen.“english

Let’s start the week with a reminder of how amazing things used to be…. and a reminder that they WILL get back to normal. We don’t know when, but there WILL be hugs and parties and gatherings of favourite people and love and romance and just pure joy with bunches of happy humans all celebrating together. Hang in there, everyone… In the meantime let’s look back on a super glamorous and FUN wedding with our fabulous friends and London wedding photographers York Place Studios. Gorgeous Ally & Alex’s black tie wedding took place at Hedsor House – and despite the rain this gorgeous pair had a BLAST! I love how the story of their wedding builds in excitement and joy through their wedding photographs: from the nerves and closeness of Ally’s bridal prep through the romantic ceremony, super classy reception and the amazing party vibes at the end of the day. This is a beauty of a wedding!

The age of black tie being a stuffy, strict dress code has really disappeared recently. As tastes have lent themselves more towards the kitschy, quirky and alternative, the tuxedo has moved with it.

These days, unless the dress code is marked as formal or strict black tie – or the bride and groom specify – you can have a bit more fun with the Tuxedo. Perhaps it’s a vintage do, calling for velvets and paisleys, or something a little more modern and sharp, calling for slim fits and sharp lapels.
