Hey lovely! Have you chosen your wedding photographer yet? Perhaps you’re still looking for a photographer whose style has that special something, or maybe you’ll need to search outside of your local area to find someone really unique to capture your day. Then read on… because I’m so excited to be introducing Warren from Howell Jones Photography to English Wedding today. Warren’s images are artistic and creative, thoughtful and emotive – and with every moment so beautifully captured they’re guaranteed to bring a smile to your face and a happy tear to your eye. I’m a big fan – and I’m delighted to be able to share some fabulous images with you today which I think will show you exactly why I think Howell Jones Photography should be on your wedding photographer shortlist – wherever you are in the country!
Sometimes I save up my very favourite weddings for the weekend, so we can all spend a little longer browsing through all the gorgeous images and Pinning every stunning detail and idea. Today is one of those days… beautiful Farhaa and Ferd celebrated in style with a fabulously styled and gloriously photographed wedding at Ariana Gardens in Essex. Their photographer was the wonderfully talented Emily Black Photography, who is based in Hampshire. Grab a cuppa, get comfy and enjoy this beautiful Indian wedding with me…. and oh, wouldn’t a slice of this breathtaking cake be perfect right now?!
We chose a marble themed cake with a special topper saying “And so the adventure begins” as we are both quite adventurous it suited our personalities.
We had a stage area with a flower backdrop and two big cherry blossom trees on each side. We went for a floral theme and loved the idea of cherry blossoms. The venue had a tree growing inside and added that extra décor.
It’s more than wonderful to see a gorgeous bridal bouquet given the attention it deserves – and Dorset photographer Robin Goodlad captures this beauty like a pro! Beautiful Martine and Nick’s wedding day is full of visual treats, glamorous styling and thoughtful details – Martine is stunning and Nick looks gorgeous – but these two little faces almost steal the show… aren’t they ADORABLE?!!
Martine is SUCH a beautiful bride, and chose a lace dress with a gorgeous and delicate neckline – the beading and detail of the dress is just stunning. A simple pearl pendant and softly curled undo completed her bridal style. The flowers are divine, with roses and peonies, mint and ferns – and floral styling around the venue with more roses, rosemary and plenty of foliage for a modern and textured look.
Although today’s wedding starts with a church service, the vibe is wonderfully whimsical and woodlandy, with celebrations under canvas and even a hand fasting ceremony in the afternoon! The venue is Bedfordshire’s enchanting Tofte Manor; the photographer is our lovely friend and English Wedding member Nicola Norton Photography.
Gorgeous couple Georgina and Ben had a relaxed and beautiful wedding in the summer. Their day is beautifully styled with glorious bouquets of pink peonies, purple and coral blooms with splashes of greenery and fabulous textures. The peony styling continues through to the wedding cake, which is displayed prettily on rustic wooden tables at the wedding breakfast. Georgina’s stunning lace dress is the star of the show, and her delicate flower crown is just beautiful!

Hey lovelies! Are you having a nice week? I’m a little black-Fridayed-OUT already, is it just me? My inbox is bursting!!! I have so many lovely things to share with you for the rest of this week though, I’m so excited!
Today we welcome lovely Hampshire wedding photographer Emily Black to English Wedding. I’m more than thrilled to have a handful of weddings from Emily lined up to share with you over the coming months – you’re going to love them, as her images are just STUNNING! Emily’s style is modern, natural and romantic – she combines the best aspects of documentary (or reportage) photography with just a little creative direction for your couple shots.
The feel of your photos will totally reflect your day. If your day is full of smiles, laughter and craziness, your photos will reflect this, just as if your day was quieter and more intimate and emotional. I’m there to capture your unique vibe! ~ Emily Black Photography
Hey lovelies! How many of you have thought about your confetti moment? If you’ve planned it, you’re an amazing genius and we salute you. (There might still be some brilliant tips here you can use!) If you haven’t really thought about it much, or you’re assuming your guests will just bring some confetti on the day, then read on. Because confetti is the funnest wedding tradition of all. It makes for amazing photos, it involves all of your guests, makes everyone laugh and smile, guarantees a few comedy moments and can be as beautiful as it is unforgettable… if you get it right.
We LOVE confetti and we’re here to help you nail the magical confetti moment on your wedding day! Thanks to Becky Harley Photography for the gorgeous confetti photos and for the inspiration which went into this blog article! (Check out Becky’s lovely portfolio via the links at the end of the feature.)
If your husband to be is out on his bike this Sunday afternoon, then this is for YOU! If you’ve both been cycling today and you’re relaxing after an exhilarating day in the saddle, then you’re going to love this more than anything you’ve ever seen on a wedding blog. Natalie and James – who’s a keen cyclist! – had a cycling themed wedding at Rockbeare Manor in August, and incorporated some ingenious styling touches into their day. Their photographer was our wonderful friend and English Wedding member Martin Dabek Photography, who captured the day so beautifully! I love the bicycle wheels with foliage on the walls, the table plan with a shelf full of cyclists… actually I love the whole day. And can we skip straight to that cake?!! The beautiful cake was made by Yvonne at Cherry Blossom Cakes and decorated with flowers by Emma at Brompton Buds.

We researched wedding photographers and found Martin’s website. We arranged to meet and were really impressed with Martins work, and calm and reassuring manner.
Should you polish your wedding? An odd question, I know – but think with me for a moment. In these days of Instagramming our lives and sharing only the carefully planned, tidy, and perfect sides of ourselves I kind of miss seeing photos that make me feel something. A gorgeous line of bridesmaids, a pristine wedding gown or a messy bouquet are all glorious to see on insta… but amongst all the wedding pretty, I love seeing a photo which will make me laugh out loud, scroll back up for another look or even identify with the people in the frame. And that has to be a real, spontaneous, unpolished wedding photograph.
It’s why I’m such a big fan of York Place Studios. They’re not about the pretty details – they capture the story of your day in the most fascinating compositions. They’re the wedding photographers most wedding photographers would choose to photograph their day. They shoot with real expertise and a flash of humour. They’re brilliant; their brides and grooms LOVE them – and they keep my little wedding blogging feet firmly on the ground.
Are you having a lovely, cosy, lazy Sunday? I’m covered in paint and supping hot chocolate… we’re painting our living room white and it’s looking like a whole new house, but oh my arms are sore! So I thought… time for a little treat on English Wedding. I am SO LUCKY to know such amazing wedding photographers all around the UK. The very best are English Wedding members, whose weddings I’m excited to share on the blog regularly… and I couldn’t be happier to tell you that Dorset photographer Robin Goodlad has joined us this month! Robin’s images are absolutely beautiful – but I will hand over to the man himself to tell you all about his documentary wedding photography, and his approach to capturing your day. Robin – welcome!
“You write the script, I’ll tell the story, has always been my philosophy with wedding photography. I believe weddings should be photographed subtly, and quietly, with observation of the key moments and pure emotion through the day, rather than creating moments that didn’t really happen. This way, the complete collection of photographs you receive really reflects you as a couple.
Happy Friday everyone! Today I’m sharing a lovely wedding with an important message from beautiful bride Danelle. This gorgeous couple married at Helmingham Hall Gardens at the beginning of autumn, and their day is everything they could have dreamed of: with pretty and romantic styling touches, a stunning dress, pretty bridesmaids and a venue to die for! The pictures by our lovely friend and English Wedding member Ayshea Goldberg capture the key moments and details beautifully – and I love how blissfully happy these two look when they’re together!
Something I rarely hear about – and I actually wish we were able to talk about this more on wedding blogs – is anxiety. The build up to a wedding is huge, and Danelle has very bravely shared her experience of feeling overwhelmed with anxiety on the big day. I’m sure she’s not alone in feeling this way, and I would urge you to look for help if your own feelings of anxiety are clouding your wedding journey. There’s a lovely article on Ayshea Goldberg’s blog about dealing with anxiety on your wedding day. Danelle – you are beautiful and brave, and we’re so grateful to you for sharing your gorgeous day on English Wedding today!
They say weddings are all about the love, the romance, the emotions and moments… and then someone shows me THESE BALLOONS and suddenly weddings are all about that instead!! Am I wrong? But aren’t they fun and pretty and brilliant? I’m absolutely thrilled to be sharing today’s wedding because – [balloons, obviously?] – it’s a real family affair, with the little ones even helping to make the wedding favours! The venue is London Shenley Club (Hertfordshire). The pics by our lovely friend and sponsor Nicola Norton Photography are a breath of fresh air, the details are wonderfully creative and Becky and Liam are just the most gorgeous-looking pair too!
Becky and Liam described their big day as like a big, summer children’s birthday party, with cricket! They included all the best things about summer: the outdoors, sunshine, cricket, Pimms, barbecued food, ice cream, children running around in the grass… and you know what? When a wedding is all about family and children it becomes SO much FUN!
Soooo….. who’s planning to arrive at their wedding venue in a helicopter then? Nope? Hadn’t crossed your mind? It wouldn’t have been on my list either until today’s rather exciting Cotswolds wedding landed on my screen. But oh – what an adventure, and what memories to have from your wedding day!! Laura and Matt really did create an exceptional wedding, with vibrant florals and a stunning colour palette. The helicopter ride makes their day really unique!! Lucky for us, our friend Martin Dabek Photography went along for the ride and captured every thrilling moment up in the skies with the bride and her dad on their way to the church!

Martin came highly recommend by our friend group… 5 friends had Martin as their photographer at their weddings so he was tried and tested!!
We couldn’t have been happier with Martin. Martin is very personable, professional and relaxed making the experience as easy as possible on the day.
