So many of our brides and grooms on the blog say the best thing about their wedding was having everyone they loved all in one place at the same time: it’s a once-in-a-lifetime scenario and should be treasured! In Chris and Arabella’s case, the temptation to do what friends do when they get together was too much: Chris is a climber, and his friends arrived… so, rocks!!!

That was the morning of the wedding, and luckily our fabulous friends from York Place Studios went along to capture the action (literally). I guess there aren’t so many wedding photographers who’d do this quite so brilliantly – and that’s what makes Dom & Liam (the funnest sister & brother wedding photographer combination you’ll ever come across!) absolutely perfect for today’s wedding. They’re based in Yorkshire and photograph weddings throughout the UK, as well as destination weddings. Their street wedding photography style always reminds me that weddings are about people, emotions, interactions between your loved ones – and those are the moments you’ll look back on (through your wedding album) and LOVE to bits in years to come.

Today’s wedding is wonderfully sunny and warm, beautifully styled and sooo romantic – it’s absolutely wonderful and I’ve been so excited to share this with you! Gorgeous couple Amy and Niall were married in Somerset, and styled their day around their backgrounds: as Amy is from Yorkshire and Niall is from Wales they incorporated both of these into their day.

They chose the tythe barn at Priston Mill as their wedding venue, and our lovely friend Priston Mill wedding photographer Martin Dabek to capture their day. So grab a cuppa and join us as we enjoy scrolling through the beautiful photographs of this rustic, relaxed, natural wedding day, full of love and laughter!

Welcome to the first weekend of autumn! I’m hoping for a crisp sunny afternoon with hints of bronzed leaves and for cosy snuggles with my man and my favourite jumper. How about you? … Oh, but you’re here for wedding ideas so I’ve got a little treat up my (woolly!) sleeve for you this morning, with a gorgeous wedding from The Plough At Leigh. The stunning couple are Nikki and James, and their photographer is our newest sponsor, lovely Terence Joseph Photography.

We met Terence at an open day at The Plough, he was so friendly and knew the venue very well so it was an easy decision to make.

We couldn’t have been happier with Terence, he was very professional and had us and our guests feeling very relaxed and at ease. He even managed to photograph some family members that were set against having their photo taken. He was interested in what ideas and visions we had. I felt we clicked and it was such a pleasure to work with Terence, he was very thoughtful and couldn’t do enough for us from the beginning right through to when I met him to receive our beautiful album and canvas. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a professional photographer, he did an amazing job.

A black tie wedding… the most amazing boho dress covered in delicate sparkles… and more fun and laughter and PARTYING than you’d think you could fit into one day. This wedding – as they always are when our friends and sponsors at York Place Studios are involved – is an absolute blast of beautiful and playful, and I LOVE it.

The Normans venue is a charming, rustic space on a working farm just outside York. Covered in twinkling fairy lights, it’s welcoming and picture perfect inside and out. The courtyard is wonderful on a sunny day, and as evening sets guests can relax in the cow shed (snug) or grain shed (ultimate party space!) – take a look at http://thenormansweddings.co.uk

We cannot thank you enough, we have been screeching with laughter, I can only imagine what you guys witnessed that night!

We just love all these photos so much, we couldn’t have asked for anything more. They are the perfect end to an amazing year, and they are exactly how we wanted the wedding captured!

Shall we give Friday an amazing send off with a beautiful real wedding?  I have this one up my sleeve – stunning bride Amy and her dapper hubby George, who were married at Fanhams Hall in Hertfordshire. They chose our friend and sponsor Nicola Norton Photography to capture their day – and the images tell the loveliest story of a fabulous, elegant and fun wedding!

I love the atmosphere of Fanhams Hall: it’s a wonderfully historical venue with that unmistakeable Great Hall – an awe inspiring setting for a wedding breakfast. Amy & George held their ceremony in the Long Gallery at Fanhams before moving into the Great Hall for the celebrations afterwards. They decorated tables minimally with ivy and fairy lights – sweet and simple for a (dare I say it?) December wedding!

Huge thanks to Nicola Norton for sharing this day with us, and to Amy & George for letting us share their day on English Wedding!

Weddings aren’t just for women. The wedding industry often ignores grooms – focusing every publication and brand on all things pink, pretty and romantic. But there are two halves to every wedding, and I think it’s a fairly safe bet that over half of the humans getting married wouldn’t choose pale blush and ivory as the most important aspects of their day.

Think about it.

So I love seeing weddings where real life stands at the forefront. Moments, smiles, emotions, interactions between all the human beings who are there. Being a blogger means I know a lot of photographers: most folks I follow on instagram happen to be wedding photographers. And I get to see their other work: the real life things they capture* and my favourite of all, their street photography. And when this style creeps into a wedding it is one of the best things EVER.

English-Wedding.com is the ONLY UK wedding blog to have a truly regional focus. The blog is bursting with fabulous real weddings to inspire your own day – probably, if you search the blog, from the very same venue where you’ll be having your wedding! So we wanted to take that local focus a little further today, and with help from Buckinghamshire wedding photographer Damion Mower, we’ve rounded up 8 fabulous REAL home counties weddings from some of the best wedding venues in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Surrey to share with you!

Whether you’re looking for a beautiful barn wedding in Berkshire or a fabulous Hertfordshire stately home, a quirky venue with classic touches or an outdoor ceremony – wedding venues in the home counties have it ALL. Some are on country estates away from the hustle and bustle, while others are closer to major towns and cities – and each has a character all of its own.

Welcome to the weekend! I got you some flowers… in the form of Hannah & Ben’s gorgeous and hydrangea-filled summer wedding. This is all just too pretty – the flowers make a huge statement but the wedding is joyous and beautiful and REAL – and Hannah & Ben make the loveliest, happiest couple! Their beautiful images are by English Wedding member Becky Harley Photography. Becky is a Hertfordshire wedding photographer specialising in timeless, relaxed and heartfelt photography. Her review from Hannah & Ben is FABULOUS to read!

Hannah described their wedding theme to me in a nutshell: “FLOWERS, FLOWERS, FLOWERS with a touch of gold. I wanted the decor to fit in with the barn but wanted it to have the WOW factor.” And oh, boy, it DID!!!

Sean & Charlotte’s Coombe Lodge wedding was relaxed, fun filled and full of love. Their theme of rustic romance in blush, cream and greens incorporated traditional touches: lace, hessian, lots of candles and lots of florals. Charlotte is stunning in an Essense of Australia dress, and Sean wears his military uniform – so today’s wedding will appeal to all of you lovelies who are looking for traditional, pretty and classic styling ideas for your day.

As we don’t live locally to Coombe Lodge (Blagdon), most of our suppliers were found online, mainly through Google. Claire from TheWildeBunch arranged our wedding flowers as well as the styling. I knew I wanted cream and blush flowers, with some greenery and quite a rustic looking bouquet, with roses and gypsophila. The flowers were absolutely beautiful and exceeded my expectations.

Can we leap into Monday with a brilliant, fun-filled, EXCITING real wedding? Can we? Because the sun’s all gone in and I don’t know about you but I need something to fill me with happy vibes and beautiful inspiration. And also because I have this blissful day hiding up my sleeve that I have been so looking forward to sharing with you! It’s gorgeous couple Caroline & Sid, who were married at Barn Drift in Norfolk and chose our faves – top UK wedding photographers York Place Studios to capture their day.

Caroline and Sid knew what they wanted from their wedding photographers. They weren’t looking for fine art or a focus on details – they got in touch with York Place and asked for “raw, documentary style pictures with the entire event covered in a candid way.”

Boy, did they get everything they could have dreamed of! The wedding is a joyful celebration mixing Sri Lankan touches with tons of personality and colour – and it’s an absolute treat from beginning to end.
