I’m pretty well acquainted with a particular wedding invitation designer and calligrapher whose eyes roll right back into her head at the first breath of “request the pleasure of your company…”. The thing is – it’s not a phrase anyone would ever breathe, or even dream of saying out loud. If you’re having a party, you tell your friends in person: “we’re having dinner & drinks at mine for New Year – would you like to come?” The only place we seem to use the horribly stilted “request the pleasure of your company” is on wedding invitations. And not the fun, exciting ones.
Catherine and Florent’s destination wedding in France looks like a dream come true. The gorgeous bride and groom travelled to the south-east of France, to a fairytale venue with views of the distant mountains, for their beautiful, intimate summer wedding. I adore the light, bright colours they used to style their day: mint and delicate pink are so fresh and summery – and the images by English Wedding Blog sponsor Amanda Karen Photography are out of this world.

There’s more than one reason we’re supporting the Chosen Wedding Fairs this year – of course our very own Facebook page editor Claire has taken over the running of the fair, and this has given us the wonderful opportunity to shout about it from the rooftops… but there are so many fabulously creative suppliers involved whose work we’ve featured on the English Wedding Blog before, this is pretty much our dream wedding fair!
Styled shoots – which we’ll always love to bits – are the reason so many of these guys have featured on our pages. If their name is in bold on the list below, they’ve starred on the blog, we know them by reputation and LOVE what they do!
Today’s wedding is just amazing – the styling is all whites and greens, a key trend for the year and so beautifully done. I LOVE the florals more than I could even begin to say! Gorgeous bride Emily looked stunning in her beautiful gown by Temperley, with stunning Jimmy Choo shoes. The family pet pugs even wore special flowers on their collars – so cute! Images are by lovely English Wedding Directory member Helen Warner Photography.
Somerset based From Sally with Love designs wedding stationery with a difference. They don’t roll out the kind of invites and save the dates you see around you – far from it! I love Sally’s characterful and inventive designs, and I know you will too!
We carefully create beautifully unique designs that wonderfully capture you and your partner and everything you have dreamt for your big day. It might be the hidden dinosaur in amongst the foliage and leaves (as in the example here) or drawing the stunning venue where you and your fiance will tie the knot, or even illustrating the flowers you will have in your bouquet. It is creating stationery that you are over the moon with, that is uniquely you and that your guests will love!
