Today’s wedding at King’s Weston House is absolutely gorgeous! The little touches Hollie and Jimmy used to decorate tables and entertain guests are just fabulous – and the bride and groom are a stunning couple – Hollie is so very beautiful. The wedding traditions I like best of all are the simple, fun and creative ones. Something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue is a tradition many of us uphold – and it’s lovely because our mums, sisters, grandmas and closest friends all love to get involved (in a good way!)

I have been playing on the internet and discovered so many creative ideas for those somethings old, new, borrowed and blue. Traditionally the items would have been carried, or on the bride’s person during the wedding, but recently brides have been a little more creative in counting things like vintage cars as their ‘something old’ – and we’re all for that! If you’re struggling with any one of your somethings old, new, borrowed or blue, here are some ideas to help!

Hey there, lovelies! I fell head over heels for this shoot sent in by lovely Rebecca at Storyteller Photography. The vintage wicker chair is wonderful (and a key trend for 2018 weddings too!) – the foliage is divine and every little detail sings of summer days.

The look is that of a perfectly romantic, slightly boho English garden wedding. Styling touches include plenty of foliage, which works wonderfully for an outdoor wedding in any location. The colour palette is based around luscious greens with hints of white and copper throughout. Foliage is key within the bouquet, flower crown and floral styling, with delicate white and peach accents.

Before you even begin to think about styling your wedding, have a peek online at English Wedding Directory member The Prop Factory and their gorgeous range of ideas and things to hire for your big day. They’ve got the kind of beautiful velvet antique chairs you see in every styled shoot; they have brilliant fairground-style garden games for your guests; antique props and light-up letters… in fact it would probably be easier for me to list the bits and pieces you can’t hire from them!

Elise and Rajiv’s Caswell House wedding is perfect: elegant styling and classy touches make their day wonderfully pretty and perfect for the 15th century manor house. They make the most gorgeous couple, don’t you think? This is ever so beautiful and I know you’ll love it. Huge thanks to our lovely sponsor Carol Elizabeth Photography and to the stunning bride and groom for their words of wisdom and advice!

“We had a holiday theme with an asian twist. All our tables were named after South East Asian Islands and we also had Asian lounge music in the background. The reason for that was because we met in Malaysia and the start of our relationship was spent travelling in different places in South East Asia.
