Make Birmingham your elopement city of choice

Published by Claire Gould on

From bijou venues to award winning stylists and designers, Birmingham literally has everything you need for your intimate wedding. After such a traumatic year of postponements, more and more couples are choosing to elope instead. And we’re right behind photographer Sophie Mort, who proves with this stunning set of images that “A simple city elopement can be just as beautiful.”

Huge thanks to English Wedding member Elizabeth Anne Norris Jewellery for sending this beautiful shoot our way!

Coordinated by wedding photographer Sophie Mort, a team of wedding suppliers combined their talents to showcase how fabulous Birmingham can be for your city elopement. Whilst lockdown restrictions are easing, many couples are still choosing to elope but might not have considered Birmingham, West Midlands as their number 1 destination. We think you’ll put it at the top of your list after seeing how dreamy and romantic it can be.

You may not have thought of Birmingham for your wedding but can we recommend just a few reasons? In the historic Jewellery Quarter you can find all you need to plan your perfect day. Small independent suppliers reside here, all within walking distance. Honeymoon at the lux bridal suite, part of the Button Factory, where you can also prep your hair and make up. We highly recommend Siren Hair Art and Charlotte Lily, as used in this shoot. We loved the matching hair accessories provided by Rocks Revival Accessories too.

A few streets away, in the Jewellery Quarter you can handpick your elegant wedding dress from Romantic Dreams Bridal. For your bespoke sustainably made wedding rings we advocate Elizabeth Anne Norris Jewellery (ask her about making your own wedding rings too.) And no wedding would be complete without a bouquet and buttonhole? Can we suggest In Bloom Flower Studio as your “go to” for yours. To capture your every moment, from getting ready to your first dance, we think Sophie Mort will do this to perfection. The Jewellery Quarter and Birmingham city centre provides the architectural backdrops that will make for sumptuous photos.

Jewellery and wedding ring designer Elizabeth said “An elopement can be a relaxed and intimate affair whilst still incorporating the latest wedding trends and styles. Our photoshoot captures all the elements to inspire you for your perfect day.”

Special thanks go to Sophie for the concept, our wedding couple Tamara and Elliot for modelling the chosen looks and all the team for bringing together this stunning city elopement vision.
