Love is back in the air as government restrictions continue to lift allowing wedding attendance of up to 30 people starting 17 May.

Little Mistress has conducted new research looking at which colours and styles of bridesmaids dresses will be most popular for bridal parties this year. The most popular colours were neutrals and creams which saw a 120% and 60% increase in searches in the past week alone!

Copper was the second most popular colour, followed by the classic red, dark green, and yellow rounding out the top 5.

The data also showed a marked increase in shopping searches for wedding guest dresses as well as bridesmaids dresses since the confirmation on Monday from the government that the unlocking and lifting of restrictions was still on track.

With wedding guest lists increasing to 30 starting 17 May and hopefully without any limitations from 21 June, weddings look to be headed back on track. Even searches for wedding venues are back on the rise.

Catherine Chambers, Head of e-Commerce & Digital at Little Mistress, commented on the trends: “As typical wedding season is about to hit, we’re relieved to see that restrictions are being lifted and weddings are steadily going back to normal.

It’s interesting to see which hues will be most popular and neutrals is an interesting choice given white has long been considered a fashion faux pas at weddings. However, this will give a timeless and minimalistic feel to weddings. It also helps bring bridal parties closer together as one unit.”
