Katie & Laurie’s elegant rustic Cotswolds wedding, with Red Maple Photography
Hey lovely! We’re having a week full of weddings – it’s an absolute dream on the blog for me, and today’s couple Katie & Laurie are just stunning! They married in the Cotswolds and lovely Alicia from Red Maple Photography was there to capture their day. (I’m proud to say Red Maple Photography is an English Wedding member!) I LOVE all the styling touches by Kirsten from The Little Wedding Helper – and Wild & Co’s flowers are absolutely breathtaking. There’s a full supplier list below, and you can read all of Katie & Laurie’s reviews and recommendations in their English Wedding interview right here!

How did you choose your photographer?
We were passed Alicia’s details by our wedding florist as she had worked with her previously. From our first conversation we knew immediately that she was who we needed on our special day. She is so personable, completely puts you and your guests at ease and and she took the most amazing photos that really captured our special day!
Were you pleased with your wedding photographer? Do tell… we love a brilliant review!
We couldn’t have been more pleased with our wedding photos. We were both a bit nervous about having to take lots of formal photos but Alicia made it so much fun and was such a joy to be around on the day – she just completely got the vibe of the day and was a dream to work with from the moment we booked her.
To top it off we had a bunch of sneak peek photos to start our first day as a married couple and then the full set of photos were all delivered whilst we were on honeymoon a few weeks later, which was incredible!
Videographer details if applicable – and any thoughts for other couples about having a wedding video?
Our videographer was from a company called Rose Gold Wedding Films. In complete honesty a videographer was always on “our nice to have” budget list but I would definitely recommend trying to include it in the budget. I can’t tell you how many times I have watched the videos and tried to relive our day!
Tell us about your venue – what made this place special for you?
We picked a lovely hotel in the Cotswolds called The Frogmill. The hotel has recently undergone a renovation so it’s really smart but still in keeping with the Cotswold style. We really wanted a laid back venue where everyone could relax, enjoy the weekend and get as involved as much, or as little, as they wanted. The Frogmill fit the bill on all of those things – It’s very laid back with a great venue room, delicious food, and plenty of hotel rooms for guests. We pretty much took over the whole place for the weekend and it was the perfect place for our wedding.
Did you love wearing your outfits? How was the dress / suit shopping experience?
I loved my wedding dress experience. I went in with such a clear image of what I wanted, and came out with something completely different! I actually ended up picking 2 dresses as the ones I fell in love with with slightly cheaper! This also meant I could alter my evening dress to work with some flats shoes for all the dancing! I wish I could play dress up every day!
Did you hire a florist? Tell us about any floral amazingness
I know many people probably say this but our wedding florist was sensational. Jules runs Wild & Co and is such an expert in her field. She really brought my vision to life and pulled all of the styling together with some amazing bouquets and feature displays.
As cake lovers here at English Wedding we’d LOVE to know who made your cake, and how delicious it was?
We decided to be a little different and ordered hundreds of Krispy Kremes for our guest – they went down a treat! I think we averaged around 2-3 per person!!
Tell us about any special personal touches, or creative projects you made yourselves
We had so many little personal touches on our day which were able to bring together with help from Kirsten from The Little Wedding Helper, who took all of our random thoughts and shaped them into something that looked beautiful!
Did you personalise your vows or have any wedding readings? What were they?
We didn’t personalise our vows but we had a couple of readings during our ceremony – one was a poem read my our parents and the other was a personalised reading ok the meaning of love, taking quotes for our close family and friends.
What was your first dance song? Why did you choose it?
Our first dance was This Will Be (an everlasting love) by Natalie Cole. We were both dreading the first dance so wanted to pick something that would get everyone up and dancing after dinner. This song did just the trick!
