Welcome to the weekend… and to one of the prettiest modern weddings we’ve shared. This glorious, elegant and refined day is a delight and I know you’ll love everything about it. Kelly & Nyall are gorgeous, the styling touches are exquisite and the images by Sharon Cudworth Photography are simply out of this world! We share a love of music, and I know these two missed going to Download this summer…. guys, let’s hope we can all make it next year! ?

How did you choose your photographer?

Sharon was recommended by a friend and we instantly loved her style of photos.

Absolutely! We felt very comfortable with Sharon from the start. We really wanted fun, natural shots and Sharon captured this perfectly. We continue to recommend Sharon to everyone!

Tell us about your venue – what made this place special for you?

The venue is Houchins Farm. We chose this venue because of the relaxed rustic feel. The outdoor space is beautiful and our family could stay in the gorgeous farm house. We also liked the freedom the venue allowed with regards to decorations, music, suppliers. We had complete freedom to plan anything we wanted. We found this venue extremely good value for money also. The houchins team are fantastic.

Did you love wearing your outfits? How was the dress / suit shopping experience?

Nyall was set on wearing black jeans so had his top half tailored by Abigails in Colchester, they did a fantastic job helping Nyall even down to customised buttons. He was very happy with his outfit. I wanted to keep my dress quite plain and boho. I was very comfortable!

Did you hire a florist? Tell us about any floral amazingness

We used sam at peonyandphlox.com. I told Sam roughly what we would like and left her to it. I could not have been more impressed! Perfect flowers!

Did you hire a wedding planner?

I love to plan a party especially with a theme so I did the planning myself and enjoyed every minute of it.

As cake lovers here at English Wedding we’d LOVE to know who made your cake, and how delicious it was?

Kelly’s Auntie Sarah made our cake for us. It was chocolate and very tasty! The design of the cake had been kept a surprise for us.

Tell us about any special personal touches, or creative projects you made yourselves

As music lovers most years Nyall and I go to Download festival so we decided to use their 2019 poster and turn it into our table plan. We edited this ourselves and had it printed locally. It now lives on our bedroom wall! My friend toni of toastcrafts made all the place cards and our invites! We had wedfest wrist bands as table favours and our favourite bands as the table names.

Did you personalise your vows or have any wedding readings? What were they?

We kept them short and sweet!

What was your first dance song? Why did you choose it?

Our first dance was to ‘you had me at hello’ by A day to Remember. Nyall sent this song to me about two weeks into our relationship and it became our song.
