A floral dream full of peonies at Botleys Mansion
How was your weekend? I hope you’ve had a lovely relaxing couple of days – and of course, I hope you’re well, and staying safe at home. To distract and delight your eyes this morning I have the most wonderful wedding styling ideas to share with you. This is all about the peonies: glorious pinks and blush tones, texture and foliage, and it would smell just incredible! Huge thank yous to #englishweddingmember Sigi Kirkpatrick Photography for sharing her images with us today.
Botleys Mansion is a grand and exceptional wedding venue in Surrey, perfect for large wedding ceremonies and receptions. When designing the shoot, myself and the florist, Rebecca Ellis, wanted to create a spectacular floral display that highlighted the distinctive features of this beautiful setting. Together with the stylish surroundings, Rebecca’s creative skill combined to make a stunning shoot.
The venue itself has an impressive glass-roofed atrium with a capacity of 250 guests. Botleys Mansion has an expert crew of in-house chefs, a specialist wedding planning team and years of experience in hosting the finest of weddings. The shoot was able to highlight all of the major features from the grand entrance hall to the stunning Green Room and of course, the outstanding chandelier-lit atrium.
The floral design focused on the meadow feel to create a kind of English Summer garden dream. We used foxgloves, coral charm peonies, larkspurs, Nigela, Veronica, and beautiful roses. The foliage was myrtle eucalyptus, soft ruscus, pistashe.
We lined the aisle either side with garden style arrangements that were designed in a very organic way to give the impression that they are growing. In the Atrium we placed the flowers in a staggered style which again gave the impression of a growing woodland and then the final main focus was the table.
We have used the moon gates at the top of the aisle before and created some lovely outdoor areas but we had never used them down a table. Using the larkspur to hang down at different heights framed this feature table and gave the impression of an abundance of flowers.
The stunning florals for the shoot are a masterpiece – if you’d like to see how they were put together, watch this behind the scenes video!
Altogether, we were delighted with the result: a perfect Summer Garden in a beautiful English mansion for the biggest day of your life!
