Midnight – dark, decadent and different wedding ideas from Glemham Hall

This gloriously dramatic wedding style inspiration was submitted by our friend and #englishweddingmember Ayshea Goldberg Photography. I love the moody stationery, the glimpses of gold amongst navy and the deliciously dreamy cake colours. The interiors of Glemham Hall are timeless and traditional, brought to life with opulent florals and daring styling touches. The images are stunning – I will leave Ayshea to tell you more.
With love,
The vision was from Donna, one half of the team at Glemham Hall. She wanted a theme of midnight – dark blue and bold decadence, with a little bit of dark whimsy. The venue is known for its beautiful gardens, so we wanted to showcase how to style the inside for beautiful and dramatic portraits and photo settings. The hall interior is very richly decorated but often overlooked – especially in glorious weather when guests tend to go outside – so by using the rooms and interior spaces we were able to really show how this venue can be used to inspire couples looking for an elegant theme, as well as the versatlity it offers for winter weddings too. The hall has an iconic staircase and is definitely a centrepiece for portraits, so the florist wanted to create a dark fairytale effect with woodland branches, dark roses and lots of candlelight. The dress boutique matched the mood board with some elegant dresses in a variety of styles and fabrics that all suited the theme. The hair stylist and makeup artist also got to be more creative with their looks and show that bold eyes and shaved hairstyles can be a beautiful option for bridal looks.
We wanted to show couples how a wide theme of midnight could be used within their own day – whether they wanted an elegant and timeless feel with glamour, or a hint of a dark and twisted fairytale – all by using the same colour palette and their imagination. It’s also a little bit different and unusual so we got to have some fun and creativity, while inspiring others to think a little bit more daringly.
