Eco vegan wedding style inspiration with Sanyukta Shrestha at Seto Mahal

Published by Claire Gould on

Today’s blog has all the luxe and eco vibes you could ever need. Glorious gowns (and so many!) from award winning eco luxe bridal designer Sanyukta Shrestha take centre stage, with fabulous suppliers collaborating to create a woodland chic wedding editorial I’m SO excited to share with you! All of the beautiful images are by KMGS Photography, and the shoot was submitted by Sanyukta Shrestha – as huge admirers of Sanyukta’s designs and of her sustainable ethics, we simply had to share this beautiful editorial!

Sustainable weddings are the future, and we LOVE how sustainability is challenging the wedding industry. This editorial is wonderfully creative, with the most romantic styling ideas and a magical atmosphere staying true to the eco friendly vibe. All the dresses are sustainable and vegan friendly, the floral installation by Lime Wood Flowers is eco friendly, make up artistTina Brocklebank used cruelty-free beauty products and the wedding cake is by The Iced Vegan. Props from The Big Chair Company & The Prop Shop are true vintage, with sustainably upcycled table decor.

The idea behind this shoot was to create a wedding atmosphere that would feel cosy and personal, a concept that would give the freedom to the brides-to-be, to dream and envision its own wedding while staying true to their ethics and personality. We knew that many brides have a stereotypical image in their minds when it comes to sustainable weddings, thus we wanted to provide inspirational styling ideas that might spark their creativity for their wedding day… you do not have to walk away for your wishes in order to have an eco – vegan friendly wedding; you just need to find the right people to make your dream come true.

This whole shoot was conceived and styled by Sanyukta Shrestha and the team behind the brand, who were truly passionate about finding like-minded ethical creatives, and showcase some of Lincolnshire’s most talented wedding professionals. The photoshoot showcases the symbolism of celebrating love in a sustainable way, focusing on self love, love for each other, love for nature, and love for craftsmanship.

Sanyukta created a curated edit of bespoke sustainable vegan friendly wedding dresses – exclusively featured on this editorial – drawing inspiration from stunning real bride Charlotte and her kind personality.

My brides are my muses, a constant source of inspiration for my designs. The idea behind this first Eco-Luxe Bespoke Edit, is to create an intimate fantasy for brides that are looking for an exclusive experience, specially designed for their taste and personal needs. This photoshoot is the first introduction of the much anticipated Sustainable Bespoke Edit by Sanyukta Shrestha, with the second one following soon, exploring different concepts around the construction and philosophy behind the wedding gown.” , Sanyukta adds.

Sanyukta’s luxurious wedding gowns were made with organic fair-trade fabrics that are produced by artisan communities in her home country of Nepal.

When a Bride visits our Boutique, we see the beauty of the silhouette, but most importantly we explore her unique personality” says Sanyukta. “When the dress makes her feel the best version of herself, then yes, she has found the one!”.

Charlotte  looks stunning in Sanyukta’s beautiful bespoke Hempsilk Abelia set, perfectly balancing between the traditional silhouette of a full skirt gown, with an unexpected pairing. “We specialise in Bespoke services, and with this first option we wanted to showcase that everything is possible design-wise. The mix and match philosophy is relatively unexplored when it comes to Bridalwear, with brides often sacrificing their ideal wedding gown because of it. Bespoke service is the answer to this dilemma, offering endless combinations of all these elements that will not only fulfill the dreams of our Brides, but also highlight her best assets in the strongest way possible”, Sanyukta highlights.

The second bespoke wedding gown, Laelia made from bamboo and organic silk, was a tribute to Nepalese craftsmanship. The detailed work of the skirt was completed by one of Sanyukta’s talented artisans, a sample of their strong technical background. Everything was done by hand; Creating the fabric, the design, the embroidery.

The Cyra Vegan wedding gown made from raw golden embroidered linen & certified organic cotton had a completely different feel. With its rustic feel and minimal detailing, it is all about highlighting the silhouette of a bride. This beautiful gown’s warm tone is perfect for brides who aren’t looking for a typical wedding dress, but for an eco-friendly gown that will match their relaxed reception”.

The Valeria bespoke vegan gown made from soft fluid vegan satin and bamboo is a breathtaking wedding gown, for brides who love an autumnal or winter wedding. This dress is one of Sanyukta Shrestha’s signatures for its traditional embroidery and distinctive Nepalese expertise.

Sanyukta wanted to create a natural and honest wedding editorial, thus Kat seemed to be the ideal photographer for creating this “perfectly imperfect” result that the creative team was aiming for. “Working with Sanyukta and her team was so refreshing and inspiring. In an industry as large as the wedding one, it is important that we think about the environmental impact we are making. Sanyukta’s gowns are absolutely stunning, one of a kind and eco-friendly, so they tick all the boxes. It was a real pleasure to work with Sanyukta and all the other suppliers involved in the project” Kat says. The ability of Kat to capture the natural expressions and emotions between the couple, created magic on set, while everyone in attendance felt witness of a real wedding between a couple, celebrating love.

The Flowers: Lime Wood Flowers

With a late October date for the photoshoot seasonal flowers were limited. However, Fran was able to source the last of the season’s pom pom dahlias from a local grower, so passionate that he went out every night to cover them with frost netting to make sure they were perfect for the photoshoot. The stunning scented garden roses, fair trade imported from Kenya and the most gorgeous ranunculus from Cornwall. This clean white colour palette was combined with lots of fresh eucalyptus from Ireland, flowing twisty jasmine trails from another local grower just 10 miles from the photoshoot and all the stunning autumn foliage from the grounds. “When Sanyukta asked me to be part of the photoshoot for her new collection I was over the moon. Here was someone with the same principles as me, just down the road from me and also looking to support local Lincolnshire suppliers” – Fran highlighted.

The Cake: The Iced Vegan

When it comes to the cake, Trudy really worked her magic and created an instagram worthy vegan cake, using local and organic high quality ingredients while drawing inspiration from enchanting surroundings. Her love for texture created a rustic feeling that Fran completed with dried elements as the final icing on the cake. “ These dried seed heads were grown and dried just 29 miles from me. I love how they added another unique touch to the designs giving it a real ‘wow’, lifting and blending with the white colour palette” Fran added.

Make Up: Tina Brocklebank

As far as the makeup look, the creative team was aiming needed to be a natural, timeless and classic makeup, using sustainable makeup products. Apart from a top professional in her field, we wanted to collaborate with her for the amazing skill she has to transform the “next door girl” to a true movie star. When Tina met our lovely Charlotte, she was inspired by her natural beauty and so just easily enhanced it, so she still looked like herself, but a more naturally the best version. Tina was very excited to make use of sustainable make range and her newly launched vegan makeup brushes.

Set Design: Claire Plumb

With a background as a Wedding Planner, Claire kept the set design very effortless by naturally combining all eco friendly suppliers, and orchestrating the perfect woodland wedding reception. Because of her professional experience, she was very efficient in working on the eco friendly and yet luxe requirements we asked for. Beside incorporating all vintage and upcycled suppliers found locally, Claire made use of all unused crates transform them to an upcycling project for an effortless woodland chic table setting, decorated with all natural twigs, eucalyptus and leaves found in the grounds, perfect for brides looking for minimal waste and maximizing sustainability on their weddings.‘When I first met Sanyukta and discovered she was a wedding dress designer with an eco ethos I was in awe! So when Sanyukta approached me to collaborate I jumped at the chance! I just love nature and all things natural! Sanyukta was a dream to work with, she is professional and inspirational I didn’t want the shoot to end! I had a truly wonderful experience’ Claire says.

The Couple :

The icing on the cake was no other but the wedding couple, a very fresh newly married couple. Charlotte and Jack, a local village couple who both work at Lincoln Hospital, were the perfect match for the shoot as we tried to capture the real authentic natural chemistry and inspire future couples planning for their eco wedding in the natural setting. “I wish I could have found you before, as I felt a million dollars in these gowns! I know it sounds cheesy but I want to get married again in these gowns, of course with the same man!”, she laughs. “Fabrics are so soft and kind and I felt I can eat, have fun, dance all day & night, be comfy, relaxed.”

The Car:

We sourced the Stunning Vintage car we used in our editorial shoot from Ian Griffin, a local villager who owns this amazing 1933 Morris 10, a stunning antique that has a 100 years of history behind it. The perfect addition to our luxe woodland shoot, this car was the ideal piece to surround an old-fashioned love affair and give a cinematic feel to the shoot.
