Vanity Fair inspired, elegant glamour from Davenport House, with Laura May Photography

Oh my word I LOVE this shoot!!! The colours, the elegance and the light through the windows… every detail is spot on, it’s absolutely beautiful. I’ve been saving it up, because it’s lovely to have something to inspire all of our weekends… and this has everything from a La Sposa gown (oh, that lace!) and velvet ribbons, insanely beautiful florals and a moody, luxe, dreamy colour palette.

The venue is Shropshire’s stunning Davenport House. The inspiration was – and I LOVE this – Vanity Fair at the Oscars. How’s that for a wedding theme?! Taking inspiration from the iconic Condé Nast publication Vanity Fair, a sense of drama and old Hollywood glamour was created with this shoot. The team wanted to create something more elevated and elegant for such a fantastic venue, with deep blues, crimsons and golds taking centre stage with the table décor.

The bride wears a beautiful crepe gown with illusion sleeves, fitting perfectly with the sophisticated tuxedo worn by the groom. Make up and hair took inspiration from old Hollywood actresses, with crimson lips to match the roses in the bouquet and a feline flick for dramatic eyes. The gorgeous bridal bouquet and table flowers included reds, peaches and blues for impact, with dark foliage to tie in with the country manor charm.
