Jessica & Jack’s rose gold and sparkle wedding at Quantock Lakes, with Martin Dabek Photography
Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope you’re having a lovely week. I have such gorgeous pics and wedding ideas to share with you today. Gorgeous bride Jessica & Jack were blessed with the most incredible sunset on their wedding day – I have been so excited to share their day with you! They married at Quantock Lakes and styled their day with classic, elegant touches, rose gold and plenty of sparkle! All images are by Quantock Lakes wedding photographer Martin Dabek.
“I had this folder of all the dresses I had seen and liked in magazines which they looked at and they picked the dresses from that. They picked this first dress which they said was a wild card and I fell in love it with it straight away! I tried probably all the dresses in the shop after that and nothing compared! It is just the way you feel in it! I then bought the dress that night! I wasn’t expecting to buy it that night which then made me doubt my decision as I am such a worrier but once the dress was delivered to store I got the feeling again and knew I had made the right decision. The designer is Stella York, from So Gorgeous (on Worle High Street).

How did you choose your photographer?
While viewing wedding venues we took names down of the albums they had on show. We then looked at their website to get a feel and booked an appointment. You then know the vibe of the photographer and if that works for you.
Were you pleased with your wedding photographer? Do tell… we love a brilliant review!
Yes!! We have amazing photos! They are everything we wanted and more!
Tell us about the moment you saw your wedding photos for the first time?
It was late at night when I read my emails and saw that they were available. We couldn’t wait to see them so we stayed up late and looked at them all in bed! They transported us back in time to the day again.

Wedding venue:
Quantock Lakes, Somerset
Wedding month:
May
Can you describe your wedding in fewer than 10 words?
Our Pinterest wedding into reality! Loving, memorable day.
Your wedding style or theme:
Our theme was rose gold, elegance and sparkle. We had rose gold table runners with mirror glass plates for the centre pieces to go on.
Where did you find your suppliers? (Blogs, magazines, recommendations?)
Some were from wedding fairs, others were just googling and also the venue had a recommended supplier list.
What’s your top tip for saving money?
Look at your monthly income and outgoings, see what the minimum amount you can save a month is and multiple that by the number of months you think for your preferred date. That can then be your minimum budget as things will always cost more than planned!
… and which elements of your wedding are you glad you spent more on?
Photographer, Videographer and bridesmaid dresses. The photos and the video are something we can treasure for ever so it is definitely worth the money!
Where did you buy or source your wedding stationery – or was making it a labour of love?
We made all our wedding invitations and save the dates! My mum is very creative and loves crafts so she had all the experience and gadgets! We spent numerous evenings on a production line making them. It was all good fun!
Tell us about your accessories: jewellery, shoes and anything else!
My hair piece was a hair comb with a vine of jewels and pearls from So Gorgeous it was just what I was looking for!
My jewellery where drop pear earrings as I was having my hair up I wanted to make a little statement with the earrings.
My necklace was a thin short chain with a diamond pendant. My dress was strapless but wanted something otherwise my neck looked a bit bare.
And what did the groom wear?
They wore navy suits with a grey tweed waistcoat and bow tie. The groom had an ivory bow tie made out of off cuts from my dress. So that added that little sentiment.
Beautiful bridesmaids: what did your best girls wear?
I got the bridesmaid dresses made by Abigail Westrup Bridal. I kept looking for dresses and didn’t see anything I liked apart from a dress from Asos but when it arrived it was the wrong colour so the design of the dresses was based on that dress but in the colour I wanted. Having them made also meant that I could get the dress for my little bridesmaid in the same material and colour but in a children’s version.
Hair and make-up – did you DIY or hire a professional?
I had my hair and makeup done by professionals. My hair was done by my hair dresser Harriet of Through the Looking Glass and my make up was done by Hannah of the Beauty Spot. I always wanted it done by professionals as it made us all feel pampered the morning of the wedding and they made me feel like a princess on the most important day of my life.
Describe your wedding flowers. Who arranged them for you? (florist details would be lovely please)
Our wedding flowers were incredible and were done by Bijoux Floral. We had trouble at the start with another supplier so when we contacted Rebecca it was such a relief of how professional and lovely she was! Our flowers were shades of soft pink, peaches and ivory to compliment the elegant theme. She did our ideas above and beyond what we asked for.
General styling – did your venue need much decoration?
No our venue is incredible in its self however we used a common supplier at Quantock Lakes called Once Upon a Table to decorate the ceremony room with chiffon drapes, Aphrodite chair decorations and the isle. She also decorated where the wedding breakfast and the most of the wedding after the ceremony in a canopy ceiling of fairy lights which made it look magical.
Crafts and makes – tell us about any homemade elements of your wedding… did you enjoy them?
We had numbers made from cardboard as table numbers which we covered in glitter. They looked super effective. We also made a sign with the 3D letters for our initials and covered them in glitter too and put it by the entrance when people came in.
The wedding cake: what kind of cake did you choose and why?
Our cake was from ‘That Cake Lady’ in Nailsea. We chose a three-tier cake with fruit cake, chocolate and vanilla favours. Our cake was amazing! We had ruffles on the bottom, the middle tier was a pink/rose gold shimmer effect with a ribbon around and the top was plain white with pink roses on the top. I had looked into different cake designs and saw each of those tiers on different cakes so I thought about putting them together and Nic said it would work!
Entertainment: any musical recommendations, surprises or treats?
We had Lipinski play at our wedding. They also performed our first dance song which made it extra special to our choregraphed dance! They had a really good playlist which got everyone up dancing all night and they also did the DJ set in between their sets.
Words of wisdom: share your best piece of advice for other couples:
Enjoy every moment! It will be the best day regardless of all the stress leading up to it! Also don’t be so terrified walking down the aisle, that’s one thing looking back on the day that I wish I enjoyed more.
What’s the best thing about being married?
You just have this lush feeling that you are even closer than before. We have been together nearly 10 years now so being married is the icing on the cake!
