Sherelle and Matt are the loveliest couple, glowing with happiness on their wedding day, which has everything from gorgeous styling touches to a fabulous setting and stunning portraits. I first saw their pics when our lovely friend Miriam from English Wedding Directory members The Artisan Wedding House got in touch – and I fell in love with every bit of this wedding! I just know you will too.

My wedding cake was bespoke, made from a brief description offered to Fathima at Fab Cakes Newcastle. We wanted retro travel cases and a globe to go with our travel theme. We had a layer of salted caramel and raspberry and vanilla. Highly recommend Fathima for cakes. So unforgettably delicious.

Our photographer Andy Hudson is truly talented. His work captured the special moments of our day perfectly- which is something we will cherish forever. All our loved ones have commented on his unique and creative style. My husband and I were proud to have him part of our day. He made us feel comfortable from the moment we met him and we shared many laughs together throughout the day.

After weeks of anticipation, Matt and I sat excited at the edge of the sofa. The photographs were such a heartfelt reminder of how perfect our day was. Andy had put together a slide show of the best pictures from the day. Our memory stick containing over 500 photographs arrived a short time after in the most beautifully decorated box. We’ve continued to enjoy these moments with our nearest and dearest.

I purchased my bridesmaid dresses online that were later reduced. It pays to be patient. My dried bouquets were quirky and cheaper than using a florist.

We had our fur baby attend for a small part of the day. Alison from http://www.wellingtonswalkies.com/ made this happen. She runs a bespoke business caring for your pets needs around your special day. I think it is an absolutely fabulous idea! Let’s be honest, eveybody you know Is at your wedding. Alison and WellingtonWalkies was very much appreciated.

Where did you buy or source your wedding stationery – or was making it a labour of love?

I purchased it from a supplier on eBay (pegsandpearls). They matched our retro theme perfectly.

Did you fall in love with your wedding dress?

It was the first dress I saw in a little boutique shop in Newcastle upon Tyne. No other dress stood a chance.

Tell us about your accessories: jewellery, shoes and anything else!

My shoes were ‘irregualr choice shoes’. They are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. The lady who altered my dress (dress making by Kayleen) said she remembered me not through my dress but my unique style of bridal shoe.
My floral headband which I adored, was purchased from ‘Handmadejewelrylady’ on Amazon.

And what did the groom wear?

Grey suit from Slaters Newcastle, tan shoes with wine red bow tie and matching braces.

Beautiful bridesmaids: what did your best girls wear?

Mint green maxi dresses with lace detail. Purchased from ASOS.

Dried bouquets and button holes-(to go with our retro theme) Purchased from Etsy (EnglishFlowerFarmer) based in Stafford.

I hand made a seating plan with a retro world map background.

Entertainment: any musical recommendations, surprises or treats?

PhotoBomb was our photo opp’ entertainment which was a huge success. Bride and Groove were our DJs.

Words of wisdom: share your best piece of advice for other couples:

Do not skimp on the little touches that have a dramatic impact on guests first impressions. Such as table and room decorations.
Take in every moment. It’s over before you know it.

What’s the best thing about being married?

Being proud to say “my husband/wife”.
