Don’t you just love seeing something different on a wedding blog? Inspiration comes in many flavours, but as a blogger I love to discover wedding style ideas with an edge, a twist – a different look to the norm. Today’s shoot stands out from the crowd for its attitude; I love the spiky bouquet; the wild, untamed backdrop of the beach and the contrasting softness of the dresses from Frock and Soul Ltd. I hope you love it as much as I do!
Frock & Soul owner Bekka is from a fashion styling background and has a fantastic creative flair. Her small boutique in Uppermill, Saddleworth stocks bohemian styled dresses and is filled with decor that echoes a natural and organic feel. Bekka selected all the dresses from different designers for the shoot, and styled everything on the day.
Images are by Maddie Farris Photography and Luke Slattery Photography, both from Manchester. The location is Formby Beach, which is based near Liverpool. Although Formby Beach has a fantastic beach, we decided to focus on other aspects of the site, mainly the sand dunes and woods which join the beach. The landscape is dramatic and bleak which lends itself perfectly to the ‘edgier’ feel we were going for for this shoot.
Northern Flowers, who are based in the heart of the Northern Quarter Manchester, made us three amazing bouquets for the shoot. They were also keen to create something edgier and supplied us with beach themed arrangements. Make-up was done by two lovely ladies from The Makeup Company, Derbyshire who specialise in bridal makeup. Our model, Lara, is from Manchester and I am so, so glad we found her. Her look and modelling was fantastic and she didn’t even complain about the freezing temperatures!
