Romantic bluebell woodland wedding inspiration, with HBA Photography
On the most challenging of spring weather days; quite literally sleet, snow, rain and dazzling sunshine, HBA Photography & Nadia Di Tullio Flowers gathered together with a host of the most lovely wedding folks to create a series of images for the newly formed Field & Forest Weddings run by Charlotte and Dave Garner, to help showcase what a stunning location they have to offer to host woodland weddings, natural ceremonies and other events. Here’s what they had to say…..
Have you ever seen a sea of bluebells? Well we were lucky enough to be invited to the beautiful village of Yoxall, in the Staffordshire countryside to have a nosey round the stunning bluebell woods at the new wedding venue, Field & Forest Weddings. It was simply stunning and the perfect place for some dreamy wedding photos! We are very lucky to know some very talented and truly lovely people within our industry and they were all very happy to take part and contribute to our ideas. The whole shoot was so much fun, everyone stayed for the whole day (which is very unusual) and we had lunch and cake in the woods!
Romantic bluebell wood wedding style ideas
So in the morning, we set about capturing the first part of the ‘story’ which was focused around the venue itself and everything it has to offer, the blessing circle, the ceremony arch, a tablescape and the stunning woodland itself. George and Sophie (our bride & groom for the day) are a real life couple, so it was easy to bring the look to life. They were great together – so much love and an amazing connection between them – two awesome humans!
We were keen to create a bohemian, slightly ethereal, almost pre-raphealite vibe to the images. The gossamer layers of the gorgeous Watters gown from Lori G really suited Sophie and the tone of the shoot perfectly. Nadia designed a blousey floral hair piece which sat well with the boho bob hair created by Kiki at Air Hairdressing. Nadia also created gorgeous a sheaf style bouquet, wrapped with raw silk, for Sophie to carry casually for her walk through the woods. George had an awesome bow tie from Lauren Vickers and we teamed this with a casual suit, for a pared back & relaxed look. Nadia waited until we were actually in the woods to make the buttonhole, so it could feature the bluebells from the site and she even managed to find pheasant feathers to pop in too!
The tablescape turned out beautifully despite the rainy and rather windswept environment, and it looked truly like we’d stumbled upon a secret woodland party just for two. Thanks to Hannah from Bake, the enchanted cake was the real show stopper complete with its floating tier of flowers. Magical!
