Kelly & David’s beautiful May wedding at Cain Manor, with Murray Clarke Photography

Published by Claire Gould on

From the beautiful florals and Kelly’s gorgeous Stella York gown, to the statement table plan and the rainbow at the end of a perfect day, I am totally in love with today’s wedding feature. Kelly is stunning; David looks fantastic and they just make the loveliest couple ever, don’t you think?

“Cain Manor has lots of wooden beams and lovely wooden floors so was ideal for the theme we were looking for. Our florist www.fsflowers.co.uk did an amazing job of decorating the venue with gorgeous displays and subtle trails. I couldn’t have achieved the look without her. She even stayed until after the ceremony to go back into the room and move the flowers around for the wedding breakfast. My flowers were old English style roses mixed with some wild flowers. The theme was peach and pale pinks with cream and they really did wow! Exactly what I pictured and more and they smelt heavenly!

We spent a long time looking at websites and photographers’ portfolios to find a photographer that suited us and our style and Murray was just perfect. Murray was fantastic and so many of our guests actually commented on how lovely he was on the day… and that was before we even saw the photos! He really managed to capture our day and the spirit of the day perfectly. From start to finish, dealing with Murray was a delight. He is very professional but down to earth so we both managed to feel comfortable around him straight away. We couldn’t have asked for more. A lovely guy with an art for capturing moments beautifully.

When we first saw our wedding photos we fell in love with our big day all over again! We always had faith that Murray would deliver something beautiful but I don’t think even we could have expected for our photo’s to be quite as special as they are. Looking through our photo’s for the first time I think we cried, laughed and relived everything for an entire evening! We can’t thank Murray enough.

Wedding venue:

Cain Manor, Churt, Farnham

Wedding month:

May

Can you describe your wedding in fewer than 10 words?

Magical, two families really coming together as one.

Your wedding style or theme:

Warm English charm with a hint of rustic country style.

Where did you find your suppliers? (Blogs, magazines, recommendations?)

Online for suppliers in the local area

What’s your top tip for saving money?

Our friends and families saved lots of gorgeous glass jars that my bridesmaid and I tied lace and floral fabric around to use for wild flower jars which the florist lovingly filled for us.

… and which elements of your wedding are you glad you spent more on?

The flowers really were stunning and we were so lucky that we found such an amazing florist who understood exactly what we wanted. She was incredible!
I also think a good photographer is really important for your big day so I would always spend time and money to fund the right one for you.

Where did you buy or source your wedding stationery – or was making it a labour of love?

Our wedding invites and table plans etc were supplied by Grace & Bramble.

Did you fall in love with your wedding dress?

The detail on my wedding dress was stunning and I had an awful lot of comments about my dress, in particular the back of the dress which has some beautiful lace and buttons.

Wedding dress designer and bridal boutique:

Arora Bride – Cheam Surrey
Wedding dress designer – Stella York

Tell us about your accessories: jewellery, shoes and anything else!

My shoes were from John Lewis and were specially designed for brides to wear heels but also have comfort so the shoes has some hidden cushioning inside which was lovely whilst still looking pretty.

And what did the groom wear?

A navy morning jacket with a grey double breasted waistcoat and pocket watch and chain of his Great Grandfathers.

Beautiful bridesmaids: what did your best girls wear?

My gorgeous bridesmaid wore a grey dress from Monsoon.

Hair and make-up – did you DIY or hire a professional?

Absolutely fell in love with my hair and make up team who did such an amazing job. My Make up artist was Kristina Gasperas and my hair was by Kasia (who also works with Kristina). They are based in Richmond, Surrey and I would recommend them a hundred times over. Kasia even got me into my dress as I was running late! They were so incredible.

Crafts and makes – tell us about any homemade elements of your wedding… did you enjoy them?

The jars our friends and families collected were decorated with lace and floral fabrics to use as flower jars which fitting in perfectly with our theme.
For the wedding favours, myself and my mum bought lots of old fashioned sweeties and put them into personalised small paper bags for everyone which went down really well with all of the guests.

The wedding cake: what kind of cake did you choose and why?

Our cake was a 3 tiered elegant cake with 3 different sponges…mainly because when we tasted the cakes, we couldn’t pick just one! Each tier was decorated differently and sat on a large wooden log as our cake stand. Our supplier was Vanessa Albury and her website is www.forever-cakes.co.uk.

Entertainment: any musical recommendations, surprises or treats?

We had a dj in the evening and spent a long time picking our favourite songs!

Words of wisdom: share your best piece of advice for other couples:

Just try to relax and take it all in. The day goes far too quickly so enjoy the moment.

What’s the best thing about being married?

We have always had a very special relationship and are best friends as well as being husband and wife so being married has just made this bond even closer.

Favourite supplier web links for other brides and grooms:

I spent a long time looking for suppliers in the local area to the venue. Their website links are above.
