What a beautiful wedding Lydia and Andrew’s was… I found myself smiling back at the gorgeous bride and groom on my screen – Lydia just looks amazing in her Naomi Neoh dress. The cake is lush; the portraits of the bride and groom are wonderful and the flowers are out of this world.
Ami, lovely photographer at Rubie Love Photography, told me, “This wedding for me had everything I love about weddings! It was at their home which is something I just love, so personal and special.
“Wadhurst has the most picturesque village church for the ceremony and such beautiful light inside. Lydia made such an incredible bride – I mean, that smile!! – just wow – and that dress: the only way to describe it was the movement was like a dressage horse 🙂 The Marquee provided by Sussex Marquees was gorgeous! The incredible flowers especially the peonies which are my favourite. Most importantly Lydia and Andrew are just adorable together – I am so, so lucky to work with couples like this! So yes everything about this wedding made it perfect.
“The venue was their home in Wadhurst and they spent a great deal of time having the garden landscaped for this day. The marquee was just beautiful and there was such an English garden party feel to the whole day. It was perfect, I absolutely love it when couples can put something together at home.”

How did you choose your photographer?
One thing we were certain about right from the start was that we wanted a good photographer. I came across Ami on Instagram and immediately fell in love with her style; relaxed, natural and beautiful and so after meeting her we booked her straight away.
Were you pleased with your wedding photographer? Do tell… we love a brilliant review!
On the day she was brilliant; so relax and capturing the atmosphere of our wedding perfectly. Furthermore, Ami is a wonderful person and we are glad that we met this lovely, creative and truly kind person.
Tell us about the moment you saw your wedding photos for the first time?
Waiting for the pictures to come through is an anxious wait, but we were over the moon when we saw them. It took Ami less than 2 weeks to get our photos online.
Beautiful St Peter and Paul Church in Wadhurst.
Can you describe your wedding in fewer than 10 words?
Full of emotion and love.
Your wedding style or theme:
The theme was – there was no theme! I hate “matchy matchy” and think it dates really quickly. We just went for natural with hint of rustic.
Where did you find your suppliers? (Blogs, magazines, recommendations?)
We had an amazing wedding planner Jackie. She helped to find some suppliers and the rest we found through blogs and social media.
What’s your top tip for saving money?
There isn’t one.
… and which elements of your wedding are you glad you spent more on?
Food, drinks, flowers, photographer, videographer.
Where did you buy or source your wedding stationery – or was making it a labour of love?
Got ideas for stationary at Pinterest. Kall Kwik Tunbridge Wells team helped to make them real. They were really helpful through the process.
Did you fall in love with your wedding dress?
I did not know which style of dress I wanted until I went to Isabella Grace Bridal and tried all possible styles. When I tried mine on, I fell in love with it. I loved this combination – the dress was elegant yet simple enough.
Wedding dress designer and bridal boutique:
Naomi Neoh from Isabella Grace Bridal boutique in Tunbridge Wells.
Tell us about your accessories: jewellery, shoes and anything else!
My shoes were Stuart Weitzman for Russel and Bromley. Veil and small accessories like sash were custom made.
And what did the groom wear?
Paul Smith total look.
Beautiful bridesmaids: what did your best girls wear?
My four bridesmaids were all so different in their personal styles and personalities. I wanted them to wear something which suited them but in same colour and length.
Hair and make-up – did you DIY or hire a professional?
I went for professionals and was very happy with my choice.
Describe your wedding flowers. Who arranged them for you? (florist details would be lovely please)
Tender and natural white/ blush pink flower theme with loads of peonies and hydrangeas. The magnificent flower arrangements were created by Lara from Darling and Wild in Tunbridge Wells were absolutely amazing, such a professional – never intrusive and really captured the feel of the wedding and all the emotion!

Fresh and simple style. We had marquee decorated with flowers and Chinese lanterns.
Crafts and makes – tell us about any homemade elements of your wedding… did you enjoy them?
Our friend made an amazing handmade table plan specially for us. Still keep it at home as a memory.
The wedding cake: what kind of cake did you choose and why?
At the beginning decided we didn’t want traditional cake with a lot of icing and decoration. Was an easy choice – naked cake decorated with fresh flowers and berries.
Entertainment: any musical recommendations, surprises or treats?
We had mix of music from 80s to nowadays pop songs. As we had different age group guests.
Words of wisdom: share your best piece of advice for other couples:
It’s a cliche but it’s one for the good reason – try and remember every moment because the day just flies by!
