It’s a very seasidey kind of week… I’m over the moon today to be sharing this gorgeous real wedding from Rye with you. Stunning couple Sarah and Sanusi tied the knot in safer times, so no covid restrictions… and this is a wonderful reminder that weddings WILL get back to being free, full of love and hugs and joy and happiness. And passionate confetti-throwing, and gorgeous group shots. Nonetheless, Sarah and Sanusi chose to have an intimate ceremony – before micro weddings were forced upon us, these two show they’re a wonderful choice: fewer guests can often mean more love in the room. Fact. They’ve told us lots about their day and the suppliers they used, so HUGE thanks to the lovely couple – oh, and hats off to Sanusi for making their wedding cake!!

I’ve been so excited to share today’s lovely wedding with you! Ella looks amazing in her floaty light, boho gown and wears an heirloom veil handed down through generations from her great grandmother’s wedding in 1924. Ludo’s her perfect match – I adore that floral tie! These two wanted their day to be very personal, laid back, and fun, with a botanical, English country garden feel. Their wedding is really personal, with Ella doing the flowers and Ludo’s sister making their gorgeous cake. The home made elements make it really special – and hey, who needs a sit down dessert when you can have a wheelbarrow full of ice-creams?!

You’ll find every imaginable wedding venue in Sussex, from the grandeur and magnificence of Goodwood to the relaxed and whimsical Party Field. I love everything about today’s wedding – the joyful colours, the happy couple and their gorgeous smiles, Charlotte’s fabulous Lucy Can’t Dance dress and Pete’s tweed suit (orange buttons get a YESSS!) and the vibrant floral styling on the tables. Here’s a wedding to Pinterest the hell out of – you’re gonna LOVE this! Images are by lovely English Wedding member Helen England Photography.

Reportage wedding photography has my heart. In the 10 years since English Wedding began I’ve seen thousands of weddings. They all have a story, they’re all personal and unique and beautiful. And the images which capture the spirit and story of a wedding are the images which will stand the test of time. Always.

So it’s with genuine pleasure that I’d like to introduce you to one of my favourite reportage wedding photographers in the UK. Sussex wedding photographer Martin Beddall specialises in reportage photography (otherwise known as documentary wedding photography, or wedding photojournalism) – his website is a brilliant place to go to see what reportage wedding photography is all about.
