Following beautifully on the heels of yesterday’s luxury wedding at Morden Hall, today I’m thrilled to be introducing a new member of the English Wedding team. Polina Perri is a wedding stationery studio whose luxe, elegant invitation designs are perfect for elegant and designer weddings in our most beautiful English stately homes and manors.

Polina Perri design studio was established in 2009. We are a visionary, conceptual, luxury brand striving to adorn your world and create the best memories of your special day. Drawing an inspiration from the world around us, we take traditional ideas and bring into existence one-of-a-kind fashionable products.

The clientele of our studio is very diverse – from celebrities to young couples on a budget – and we always welcome every new customer with genuine passion for creating their perfect wedding stationery! Furthermore, we operate not only in the UK nationwide – orders are shipped all over the world.

I’m a total paper freak. I love exploring art shops and specialist stationery suppliers’ little havens of handmade papers, running my hands along the torn edges of any new stock I can find. I know it’s weird.

But there’s a thing I can’t get out of my head: I read on a wedding blog a week or two ago that one of the key trends for 2018 wedding stationery would be paper.

Not card, not pocketfolds, not even transparencies. Good old earthy, natural, handmade paper.

I’ve been writing on specialist papers for the last couple of years. It’s kind of what I do. I really love it – paper has a life all of its own and with every new calligraphy nib comes a new adventure in textured, woven, cotton rag or hand dyed paper.

Sometimes it’s easy to find a wedding stationery collection which stands out from the crowd… Something about Lilac & White takes my breath away: perhaps because I love a landscape and sunset, perhaps because I adore minimal, elegant design with beautifully considered typography and spacing. There isn’t a single invitation here I don’t love – and I hope you will too!

L&W’s founder Paula Pidgeon says “It’s easy to have lots of different ideas and to try and jam them all on one invite. This can ruin the overall design and elegance a couple is trying to achieve.” This is where wedding branding comes in. What is this? It’s a set of design ideas used consistently across a wedding day. It’s using the same colours, fonts and illustrations in all your stationery and feature graphics. These might be used on signs, wedding favours, table numbers, flowers etc. L&W recommend selecting these elements carefully and use them consistently to achieve a unique and steady style for the day. Consistency is the key.

I’m a fan of all things different, of little pieces of loveliness with personality, charm and their own enchanting style. Boho weddings are wonderful – individuality and relaxed, rustic style is right up my street! My dream wedding would be woodlandy or beachy with fun instead of frills… and the stationery would be boho, illustrated, and oh-so-slightly quirky. If you’re like me then you’ll love this little curation of boho wedding invitations. See where to buy in the listings below. You’re welcome!Claire

Blush and Gold is a boutique wedding and event stationery supplier based in Birmingham and covering the whole of the UK. Lovely Mara got in touch with me to share their favourite designer wedding invitations and introduce Blush and Gold to you!

There are two of us that run this little company and we provide two types of products for our stationery. We have some in-house collections that we add to every month, of which text and colours can be customised, but we also offer a bespoke service which allows couples to see their ideas developed into the finished product of their dreams. Our collections offer an idea of how the design can be applied to ‘on the day’ items as well, although this is just a starting point as we can pretty much produce anything the couple desires.

Supporting little indie businesses is wonderful. There are hundreds of amazing and dedicated independent designers pouring their hearts and souls into their creations – and having to compete with the big boys. It ain’t easy – so every little bit of support you can give to indie wedding stationers is worth its weight in gold. Here are some of my favourite wedding invitations featuring pretty, quirky and unique illustrations.Claire

Hey lovely! It’s day 2 of my wedding stationery review features, and I wanted to show you what came in the post a couple of weeks ago. We were ridiculously busy prepping for The Handmade Fair, so it’s only now I can reveal – and review – this little sneak peek at some gorgeous new wedding invitations by Knots & Kisses.

Opening Nikki’s package was such a treat – and it’s this attention to detail which makes Knots & Kisses one of the best wedding stationery brands in the UK right now. Instagrammers should take a look at Nikki’s pics, and join me in being insanely jealous of her beautiful workspace!

Being an eco-friendly girl with a mild fetish for kraft stationery and a passion for nature and the outdoors, I immediately fell for the natural, woodland-inspired and elegant invitation from Knots & Kisses’ 2016 collections. Stags and antlers are going to be huge again in 2016, and this range is perfectly on trend with its quirky font, lace trim and memorable motif. LOVE!

I would urge every stationery-loving, creative and contemporary bride and groom to discover small independent businesses while planning your weddings. If there’s an indie alternative to high street products, seek it out and support the little, local guys.
