Over the last week or so I’ve been equally intrigued and impressed by something called 20Collective – and I suspect by now you’ve heard about it too! But what is it?! I think it’s on the verge of being pretty big news in wedding photography – and I know couples who investigate 20Collective will like what they see. I know I do.

20Collective is a group of diverse and distinctive wedding photographers. They shoot weddings all around the UK and abroad, and have joined together to bring you a fabulous shared portfolio website. It has the potential to be very powerful: a visual photography-led wedding blog. And there are some very exciting names involved in the project:

Wedding photographers at work: behind the scenes at the Love Bridal Boutique launch

Who’d like to see some funny photos of wedding photographers? I have some. 🙂

The deal is this: if you didn’t see the Love Bridal launch on English Wedding Blog earlier this week, please do check out the North West’s most exclusive bridal boutique, owned by the lovely Emma and Jonny Draper. Love Bridal was launched with the help of 14 great wedding photographers from Manchester and Cheshire in The Best of the North West. You can see my favourite images – one per photographer – by clicking my favourite Love Bridal images.

When you’ve read all about the launch, you can join me to enjoy and have a giggle at the behind the scenes images which were shared by wedding photographers Jonny Draper and Neil Redfern. We’re about to get up close and personal with some of the gorgeous accessories and wedding dresses from Love Bridal – and to see what wedding photographers look like, both in flight and upside down. Seemed just right for a Friday!

The launch of Love Bridal today is something for the wedding industry in the North West of England to really celebrate. While I’m now Norther and Wester than all of the photographers involved in the shoot, I’m still delighted that English Wedding Blog is playing a part in this launch: the way these guys work together is inspiring.

This is a fantastic showcase of the wedding dress designers at Love Bridal boutique:

  • Terry Fox
  • Mia Mia by Alan Hannah
  • Intuzuri
  • Heritage Collection by Balbier Wyatt

It’s also a great introduction to some of the best wedding photographers in the North and West of England. These guys work together and share ideas because they have such different styles and perspectives – who’d have thought wedding photography came in so many shapes and sizes!

Understandably, this wedding day had me intrigued from the moment I first heard about it! Bouncy castles, inflatables and a gorgeous village hall? Yes please! Louisa and Dan were married in Lancashire on the 4th of June and chose Neil Redfern as their wedding photographer. Louisa is originally from New Zealand, although now lives with Dan in Cumbria (spooky coincidence: my Gareth is half kiwi, and I’m from Cumbria! How could I not feature this wedding?!)

Neil told me how the wedding day unfolded: Louisa got ready in a little pub in Arkholme called the Bay Horse, the wedding ceremony was at Lancaster Town Hall and the reception at Arkholme Village Hall. The shots of Louisa & Dan in between the ceremony and the reception were taken on a bridge in Lancaster. The day had a really nice village fete feel to it and was extremely relaxed with lots of fun elements: a BBQ, bouncy castle, hula-hoops and an inflatable thing which guests could roll down a hill in!
