Kimberley and Francesco’s wedding is wonderfully sophisticated with an Italian twist. I love it when grooms look a little different, and Francesco’s black suit and dickie bow are just wonderful!

Kimberley is so very beautiful – her lacy dress is gorgeous and the details of the day are really pretty and romantic – the soft pinks of the roses, the prettily styled wedding cake… this all adds up to a classic, feminine English wedding – and it’s lovely.

“Our wedding was the happiest day of our lives… totally perfect! I wanted something really chilled and relaxed, nothing too styled or formal. It was very much a homemade affair styled around the English countryside, relaxed, and shabby chic!

Matching your wedding style to your venue can be easy when you have a blank canvas (a marquee or a purpose-built venue) but when you’re marrying at a stately home or boutique hotel it’s easy to confuse styles. I always encourage couples to consider the style of their venue when making decisions on wedding decor: a boho look won’t work in a modern hotel, just as a classic wedding dress can look out of place in a field at a festival wedding. Stately homes are our classic venue choice, but how can you make sure your styling options aren’t limited?

Real wedding in Somerset photography by Jennifer Sinclair (19)

We didn’t have a theme as such…. Our key priority was having all the people there who we loved and who had looked out for us. Next it was making sure that we had really good food and drink. We both love cooking…and wine….as do our friends! We wanted our reception to feel like a big family meal, with our friends and family passing food around, chatting and enjoying. We went for a bit of an English-Italian fusion….. local Somerset Salami and buffalo mozzarella, Italian Parmesan, (local) Roast Beef and salads and our favourite wines that remind us of holidays.”

I love the little heads of corn interspersed with the flowers, which really bring the countryside vibe to life. The shoot took place in the stables at Sass & Grace bridal boutique in Winchester, and the dark backdrop is a fabulous contrast with the light, pastel flowers.
