Hey there beautiful,

Whatever your plans this weekend, stay safe and well – and home!

It’s been the craziest week we’ve ever known here, and I know many of you – like me – will be feeling a little lost right now.

We’ll get through this.

I won’t be publishing any weddings or shoots this weekend. Instead I’ll be taking some time to reflect on how we can help you, our lovely brides and grooms to be, and our wonderful wedding business members and friends.

This beautiful eco wedding was held at Coed Hills in South Wales, a zero waste events space set over 180 acres of unspoilt ancient woodland. Laura & Ollie chose this unique wedding venue because of its rustic charm and flexibility to have the day they wanted.

Laura & Ollie run their own catering company and are well used to running events and the organisation and detailed planning that had gone into this wedding was amazing. They designed the menu and catered their own wedding breakfast, with Ollie doing much of the food prep in the days before the wedding. Laura and her Mum were very creative making the flower arrangements and the table details.

An elopement is just what I needed right now. Huge thanks to Laura from The Rustic Dresser for this beauty in my inbox today – a timely reminder that LOVE is what life is all about. Weddings are on hold right now; but these glorious images by Westlake Photography will lift your hearts, I just know they will. I’d love to think the future of weddings looks like this – simple, wild and free, pared back and all the more beautiful for it. Stay safe everyone, stay home for now – and dream of a future that looks like this.

When I first began English Wedding I remember writing a little ‘about’ piece. The blog was for every bride and groom, and to showcase every side of English style from classic elegance through punk and folk, via city chic and our artisan heritage. I stand by that today: we’ve shared amazing inspiration and real weddings for every kind of couple. I’m proud of that.

And in these unsettling times I’m determined to keep supporting independent wedding businesses as much as I possibly, possibly can. Today I’d like to share sustainable British bridalwear brand Lee Klabin. Lee has just unveiled her AW 20/21 collection of statement bridalwear, fusing high fashion with incredible ethics and a look I just LOVE!

I’m doing everything I can to shine positivity into the interweb and keep our screens beautiful, inspiring and happy through difficult times. We all need a little joy, whether that’s from a spot of sunshine in our back gardens or from scrolling through favourite websites and wedding inspiration channels. I hope, lovely readers, today’s wedding will lift your spirits as it has mine. The happy couple are Emma & Adam, and Manor by the Lake wedding photographer Martin Dabek captured their day so beautifully.
