I jumped at the chance to feature this shoot because not only is it beautiful, it feels REAL. Let me explain. Styled photoshoots are a wonderful part of what wedding suppliers do. It’s a chance for creative minds to come together and bring their ideas to life, to inspire couples who are planning their weddings. But sometimes they’re so perfectly posed they feel unattainable, too beautiful. This one though, this made me smile. It’s vibrant and colourful, with simple styling touches and breathtaking florals. The dresses and jumpsuit (because we’ve 3 outfits to show you today!) are stunning – and model Dani wears them like the most joyful bride in the world. Her natural smile lights up these pages, and I’m absolutely thrilled to be sharing this gorgeously achievable wedding inspiration with you today. Huge thanks to lovely Maddy from Wedding Paint for sharing this with us. The images are by talented local wedding photographer Sophie TC Photography, who introduces the shoot and styling touches below, explaining how it all came about. There’s a full supplier list for you to check out just below.

If history matters to you, then this shoot will excite you.
This is the Court House Manor in Painswick. Nestled in the beautiful Cotswold countryside surrounded by rolling hills and stunning views, the Court House Manor bursts with history, beauty and elegance.

The very bones of this property date back to the 17th century. Even King Charles I stayed at the Court House as he battled through Painswick prior to the Siege of Gloucester in 1643, and used the Court Room to administer justice to wrongdoers. There are so many hidden corners and incredible stories in this property, it’s hard to list every single one.
What better venue than this to mix a modern touch with? That is exactly what Maddy from Wedding Paint set out to do in the Summer of 2021. Maddy is not only a brilliantly talented and experienced hair and make-up artist but has a passion for styling and was the vision behind this shoot. The aim was to bring along local suppliers to showcase the very best of the Cotswolds. We wanted to incorporate as much of the history of this stunning venue as possible. Two outfits, two arches, multiple pieces of jewellery, two flower styles and a lot of windows.
“For a long time now, I’ve wanted to get a shoot at courthouse manor. As we live in the Cotswolds and because I am somewhat an artist. I wanted a different theme, a local edge, bright colours and bespoke arts. Having local suppliers matters to me as it means we can spur and cheer each other on. As the court house is both rammed full of history and different cultural eras. It was important to bring it all to life and together. As a makeup artist of over 25yrs and in the wedding industry for nearly 10. My imagination goes wild and I like to use elements of trend and my experience of working on 450 weddings.”

Sophie from Sophie TC Photography is a Gloucestershire Wedding Photographer who captures the memories of your day through vibrant, bright and natural photography.
“It was a wonderful shoot and amazing to work with so many talented and unique suppliers from the local area. I had the best job of the day photographing all their amazing work. I would highly recommend using each and every single one of them. The Cotswold country vibes were everywhere throughout the shoot. This venue is also a wedding photographer’s dream venue! Literally every part of this place is gorgeous and perfect for a couples shot or fun group shots on your day. It’s stunning!”
The gorgeous Dani was our model for the day. She is a bride to be herself and is getting married next June.

“I had a lovely time modelling, it was very fun to try on the dresses and get glammed up as it gave me inspiration for my own wedding happening next year. It was amazing working with Sophie as we are great friends and makes me feel so comfortable in front of the camera. She is a blast to work with!”

We wanted a real modern twist for our bridal look so we had two completely different outfits for our bride to try. Firstly, we went with a jumpsuit – you can’t get more modern than this! Next, we went for the most stunning dress for E&W Couture. Safe to say we all wanted to try on this dress! A really twist on a modern dress with tonnes of sparkle and glamour. The way the dress flowed beautifully and the glitter caught the light was stunning. To pair with our gorgeous gowns we teamed up with Gemma Sutton for some fabulous hair pieces. Each piece is stunning and can fit any brides needs. Gemma is a make-up and hair designer so knows exactly what every bride wants when it comes to hair accessories.

Bright, gorgeous and loose flowers creating the bridal bouquet, table pieces and stunning flower arch from Demelza at the Unwalled Garden added a stunning pop of colour to the shoot. Arches like these are not only a beautiful sight to behold but also can be used for multiple features on your day. Entrances for guest, where you get married and couples’ portraits later on. We loved using it multiple times on the shoot.

Meadow boxes created by Imogen at Saltbox and Co. added to the already stunning floral design to add a new element and twist on the day. Paired with the LOVE letters and macramé to add that extra level of sophistication and beauty to the shoot or your wedding day. These boxes were also incredibly easy to move around making them the perfect fit for your day as you could use them anywhere you like throughout the day – just like we did on the shoot!

Talking of floristry and macramé. The amazing macramé was a hand made piece made by the incredible Jodie at Wild Meadow Weddings. Not only did she make this stunning backdrop macramé piece but she also specialises in venue styling for environmentally conscious couples. Stunning and sustainable all in one – who could ask for more!

Not forgetting our other element of the light up letters. A must have for any 2021 or 2022 couple! Charlotte is the lady to go to for all things letters that light up. She runs the amazing family run business of Alana’s love, specialising in all light up LOVE, MR & MRS and even initials for every couple. These really are a show stopper at any wedding and Charlotte is a wonderful lady to work with.

The stunning jewellery was all designed and made by Hannah Kimber. The selection of different styles and colours was simply gorgeous and stunning. Each piece is lovingly created and designed to perfection in every way. Hannah is an incredibly talented designer and lovely lady!

The absolutely stunning tablescape was created by the lovely Amanda from Vintage Gold China. Classic candles with a modern twist of colours mixed with stunning floral arrangements by Demelza from The Unwalled Garden created the perfect Cotswold scape – perfection in every way.

“As a wedding supplier of table top items and decor it is rare that I get to meet and interact with other suppliers ‘on a wedding day’. It was a real treat to spend time and meet the faces behind the names. Thanks to the gorgeous, steeped in history, 16th century venue, the team created many stunning photo opportunities.”
The stationery on each plate was lovely created and hand made by Meryl at Blackbird and Blossom. That’s right it is all hand written.

“When I got the memo that the colours for this wedding were focused around sage green, I jumped at the chance to create the wedding stationery. Calligraphy can add that personalised touch to a wedding and make sure even the smallest of details are beautifully curated! I’ve been a calligrapher for several years now and each wedding or commissioned piece I make brings me a lot of joy to see when it all comes together with all the other brilliant suppliers to make the couples magical day perfect!”
Now on to that food. Starting with the amazing cake lovingly made by Cake Box using seasonal and local ingredients. That delicious looking graze platter was lovingly created by Wild and Brie. Not only was it stunning to look at but it tastes lovely too. The perfect addition to any Wedding buffet table.

“As a small independent company, it was exciting to be given the opportunity to work with so many other inspiring women. We were overwhelmed at how incredible everything looked when it came together…and how stunning of a theme! It certainly gave us a lot of inspiration for our own future weddings! We’re honoured to be associated with such a wonderful group of creative suppliers.”

This is wedding styling of dreams. A graceful, sleek wedding dress teamed with designer stationery in a monochrome palette and lush, romantic florals – just beautiful. Capturing it all is our talented and lovely friend and Essex wedding photographer Amanda Karen Photography.
The contrast between the softness and delicate colouring of the floral arrangements, the modern lines of the off the shoulder dress with its statement bow, and the striking stationery make this a really stunning wedding look.
The floral archway is innovative as it is beautiful, a square rather than a gentle curved arch, and all the more impactful for it. We’re in love! The floral arch is used to frame the sweetheart table and cake display here, but we love it for its versatility: why not use a floral arch as a backdrop for your ceremony, then for your portraits and to set behind the top table at your reception?
Everything works so beautifully together in this gorgeously contrasty way: the designer cakes are elegant and on trend with a modern and minimalist vibe: set beneath the floral arch they both have that incredible wow factor.
The tables are topped with elegant candles, with geometric hurricane lanterns at the foot of the draped tablecloth. It’s all just so beautiful. The colour palette of blush and greenery with accents of burgundy, set against the black and white stationery and cakes – it works so well together, don’t you think?

Sarah Hoyle Photography, initial concept and planner
I wanted this styled shoot to be quite pared back and reflect the values of my new brand, which are all about simple living and sustainability. The shoot was designed to have a folksy feel to it…I described it as being a mix between Poldark and Mumford and Sons!
All the elements that were brought together to create the shoot were eco-friendly and sustainable. We had a wonderful team of gorgeous ladies who all believed in the same ethical and environmental values and they all worked their magic to great this beautiful shoot.

Gilbert White’s House barn was a perfect venue as they provide everything for weddings in house and they are classed as an eco friendly wedding venue. They also have their own in house brewery so we designed our table favours to be a bottle of specially brewed ale for the couple. Ticking all the sustainable boxes, not only would the favours be used but then the glass bottles could be recycled. Plus the fact the ale was brewed in house meant there was little to no carbon footprint for them.
The vibe of the barn was the perfect backdrop as it felt warm, cosy, rustic and had that Poldark feel to it, the views of the South Downs outside were so stunning too you just couldn’t get a better backdrop.
I chose to have a handfasting ceremony for the shoot again to reflect the 18th Century vibe of the shoot. Simple olden days living with an arts and craft aesthetic.
I loved the idea of the groom having a banjo to play on his wedding day, again minimal fuss and entertainment for the couple, just good old fashioned honest music and fun.
I wanted to produce a shoot that felt warm, loving but intense, Autumnal, rustic, folky and sustainable and I hope that the images do this!

Amethyst Weddings – Sian
Sarah first approached me because of my vegan and eco credentials. She asked for my help and input with the styling of the tablescape. Following our initial conversation I instantly knew what aesthetic Sarah was looking for. Inspired by her original mood board I created a warm and inviting tablescape using brass and wooden candlesticks which were all preloved items and vegan friendly soy candles in neutral tones.

I picked naturally dyed napkins along with a natural gauze table runner in a taupe tone that added texture along the centre of the trestle tables. These natural tones helped to create a cosy homely natural vibe combined with the beautiful amber tones of the glassware and the medicine jars we used for the flowers.

Blooming Cow Florist used a combination of British dried flowers, grasses and seed heads along with some freshly cut rosemary from her cutting garden.
More specifically: Lagurus seed heads or the aptly named ‘Bunny’s Tail’, a soft and tactile grass seed head that you just want to stroke! Nigella seed pods which are globular shaped seed pods that have a lovely golden hue to them once dried. Mustard yellow Achillea flowers and statice in apricot shades also featured as well as dried fennel seed heads, wheat and oat grasses. I included the fresh rosemary to give the bouquet a bit more life, I find that the greens in any dried material can look a little too dull.
The bouquet was tied with hessian ribbon and natural twine with the addition of some beautiful silk ribbon from The Botanical Dyer in a limited edition colour of Caramel Bronze.
The Wedding Altar
A natural hessian runner marked the aisle walkway with a combination of glass vases on log slices featuring dried flowers and seed heads and a scattering of Helichrysum flower heads. A hand painted botanical backdrop was used and decorated with hops. Two galvanised metal milk churns / barrels marked either side of the alter with tall Pampas grass fronds. The Pampas grass used was obtained from The Hampton Estate as well as from one of my customers gardens in exchange for some dried hops!

The Entrance: The double barn doors that face out into the landscape at Gilbert White’s House were decorated with hop bines. We re-positioned the milkchurns and also used them here to mark either side of the doorway. Along with a scattering of Helichrysum flower heads in a lovely deep burgundy.
The Table: My contribution was quite simple – mainly Nigella seed pods in the vases with a few smaller dried pieces in smaller vases.
Hop Bines were sourced from The Hampton Estate, a family owned and run traditional agricultural estate located in Farnham. British Dried Flowers were from Shropshire Petals and Daisy Shop, with plant dyed silk ribbon from The Botanical Dyer</a

Eco friendly wedding dress by Jessica Turner Designs
The process and ideas of the shoot were parallel to my way of working, looking into natural organic sources and sustainability. I was honoured to be asked by Sarah Hoyle Photography and Sian from Amethyst Weddings. The Daisy dress was chosen, made from cotton and lined with organic cotton for a boho bride. I loved the folksy design of the dress which also matched the rustic charm of the setting.
The sleeves were redesigned to create a whole new bridal look, a sustainable way of working creating something new from something old but also the sleeves are detachable so the dress can also create two looks in one night.

Stationery by Ellie and Liv
When Sarah asked me to be part of her styled shoot involving other like minded eco-friendly and sustainable suppliers my heart sang. Her vision was everything I dreamed of in regards to the colours, feel and tone.
After delving into Sarah’s mood board and Pinterest inspiration I drew my inspiration from the month of the shoot October and all things Autumn.
I had thoughts of Anne of Green Gable, Wuthering Heights fleeting through my mind as my muse. Taking inspiration from Gilbert White himself, I looked to nature and the season for the colours and dried foliage that can be found in the wild countryside of the British Isles.
Using natural taupes, oranges and a pop of burnt ochre I used watercolour as my medium of choice.
I knew eco-friendly zero waste poppy seed paper would be the perfect choice for the stationery, mixing it with recycled kraft card to create a natural depth. As dried poppy heads appear in late Summer and early Autumn, the seed in the paper gave an extra layer to the story the stationery told. I even included a painted poppy seed head, hidden in the foliage.
Then when the stationery is finished with, it can be returned to nature. Growing new poppies next Summer for everyone to enjoy.

Wedding ceremonies have been an important feature of nearly every culture, religion, generation and society. We have thousands of important moments that happen throughout our lives, but this one is regarded as one so meaningful that we acknowledge it’s special status by sharing it with others.
Despite all our differences, love is what we all share. It’s the great unifier and one universal truth. No matter who we are, we know one thing…love is what we’re doing right. And love is what brought everyone together for this special Handfasting ceremony.
A hand fasting and hand things have been used throughout history to symbolise the union of two individuals in marriage. It quite literally symbolises ‘Tying the Knot!’
Inspired by the earthy tones of this styled shoot, we decided to take the Handfasting ceremony outside beneath the branches of a big oak tree. The roots of the tree growing beneath our feet felt grounding and expansive as the couple exchanged rings, shared vows and sealed their union with the tying of hands grounding them to the roots of the tree and to each other. It was as if all of those gathered in that moment were at one with the earth and one with the couple as they made their vows.
Each of the ribbons used in this Handfasting carried meaning. Brown symbolised nurturing, home and hearth. Next, Gold meant wisdom, prosperity and longevity and finally, Yellow for joy, happiness, and unconditional love.
We used plant dyed silks and velvets sourced from a variety of small businesses via Etsy.

The Ethical Bride Co. is run and founded by friends and fellow hair and makeup artists Jen and Lisa. They have been working together for many years now. They believe in trying to use products in their kit that are vegan friendly which ultimately means cruelty free as well. The beauty industry is full of wastage around packaging and unused products so Lisa and Jen carefully try to use products that they know are effective and where possible use sustainable methods of packaging.
The duo jumped at the chance to work with a more sustainably minded team and loved what Sarah was trying to achieve. ‘We want to show that you can still get high quality hair and makeup results from being an Eco-conscious hair and makeup artist’
They wanted to use autumnal rustic colours and shy away from the ‘oh so natural boho look or the typical bridal looks’.
The brands that they used on the wonderful models are as follows: Beauty Kitchen / Jaclyn Hill /Morphe eye shadow palette / Elf cosmetics
Chantecaille / Too faced / Hourglass / Beauty Made Easy / Natulique Natural Styling (hair) Maria Nila (hair)

Stunning wedding style inspiration from two of our lovely English Wedding members. We knew when Stockton House got together with Nicola Gough Photography magic would happen. But this, oh this is a whole other level of beautiful. The setting is divine. The images are glorious. The styling is exquisite… you’re going to LOVE this! The floral styling by Big Little Things is incredible (we’d feature these guys every. single. day!), Evelyn & Elliot‘s stationery fits perfectly. Rob & Rebecca look amazing in a Peter Posh suit and dress from My Little Wedding Shop, with Rebecca’s hair and makeup by Mrs Kassi Mac.

Within the stunning Shropshire countryside, nestled a few miles away from historical market town, Bridgnorth, you’ll find Stockton House. This Grade II listed Georgian property is now Shropshire’s latest wedding venue set to open its doors in 2022.

In the Spring of 2021, Nicola Gough Photography arranged and assembled the dream team of local suppliers to showcase what Stockton House can offer to their clients. This venue is unique; offering luxury, privacy, and tailoring each wedding to each couple individually. Marc and Jonathan, the faces behind Stockton House, are also the owners of award winning catering company, Caviar and Chips, so they are well versed in working closely with couples, ensuring they have everything exactly as they wish. This also means you have the opportunity to craft your own unique wedding menu with their amazing chefs.

Couples have so much choice here; with a civil ceremony licence in the unique one hundred seater secret walled garden dining room, any of the luxurious rooms on the ground floor, or the incredible Victorian turning house. You could also have your ceremony at the historic 11th Century St Chad’s church just down the lane.
Couples can stay as many days as they like, as there are no fixed arrival times and you can leave at your leisure. Every night you stay at Stockton you can enjoy a delicious, freshly prepared breakfast for you and all of your staying guests.

Photographer Nicola said of the location, “It’s wonderful! From a photographers point of view, it’s a dream as there are so many places for your photos and everywhere will look gorgeous throughout the seasons. From the main house with the staircase and beautiful rooms, to the gardens, woodland, the turning house, and the surrounding countryside means you can enjoy an uninterrupted sunset too. With cloudless blue sunny skies today feels perfect for sharing this Indian summer wedding inspiration with you. With bridal wear by English Wedding member Felicity Westmacott, gorgeous photography by Fleur Challis and vibrant florals from lovely Mimi Fleur, it’s a breathtaking blast of wedding loveliness I just know you’ll adore! It’s a wonderful thing to be able to showcase Felicity’s bespoke bridal designs with you: not only is her work beautiful, choosing bespoke for your wedding dress or outfit will bring you so much choice in what you wear for your big day, from fabrics to style and silhouette to the tiniest little details.
Have a magical weekend, everyone!

As Autumn draws in, a last burst of summer weather is known as ‘An Indian Summer’ – lifting English hearts with the last of the longer days. This team of professionals used the inspiration of summer colours to compliment a fusion English/Indian styled shoot. They were hosted by the beautiful Trafalgar Tavern in Greenwich which was dressed by Mimi Fleur in hot pinks and oranges including traditional Indian Mala garlands.
The beauty of a fusion wedding is that one has so many cultural influences to be inspired by and it is in honouring both the bride and groom’s background that a very rich and personal wedding day is created. The grandeur of the day was captured with skill by Fleur Challis Photography whose unobtrusive methods captured all the unique details and the beautiful colours.
The shoot was organised by Sam, ‘The Wedding Owl’ who used her wide contacts to bring together the fusion wedding look. Sam also runs E-lope, collaboratively with other members of the shoot team, organising micro weddings in Kent for couples looking for an intimate ceremony.

Our stylists dressed the tables with ochre coloured cloths, atmospheric cream, burgundy and gold lamps. They layered gold edged platters, beneath ochre linen napkins finished with cinnamon sticks for a hint of ‘spice in the air’. Sam sourced traditional Indian glass and silver to make some guests feel exotic and others at home.

Flowers in hot colours, fuschia, orange and gold as well as light as a feather pampas grass complimented the ornate interior of Trafalgar Tavern. Couples can exchange vows against views over the Thames from the huge windows shedding beautiful light on the whole set up. The catering team at Trafalgar tavern treated the shoot to delicious tastes of their menu (for photography, but we couldn’t let it go to waste!) and Sam added Indian silk brocade to the serving trays to keep everything on theme.

Our bride looked perfect in a thoroughly modern mix and match ensemble from Felicity Westmacott, Bespoke Bride with touches of India as a nod to her future husband. Felicity says “I layered silk satin, embroidered organza and Indian trims to create this fusion bridal look. I love creating ensembles with elements that can be added and removed, so my brides can change their look through the day. I designed wrap over silk crepe trousers that are split up the sides, they move beautifully and reveal metallic ribbons sewn on the inside hems when our model walks. I made a tiered skirt in embroidered silk organza to wear over the top, so the sexier trousers are a surprise for the evening party.

I love the top which was both modern and simple with a plain loose fitting front, revealing the ornate gold and pearl belt worn underneath. I designed an elegant low, draped back with a nod to the fusion look by adding traditional Indian blouse tassels (latkan). My favourite part of the whole look were the organza balloon sleeves, trimmed with more Indian trim to echo the gold and pearl belt. And because you just can’t hold me back I also made another pair of sleeves, this time coming from the shoulder and finished with wide buttoned cuffs. To recreate this look: think about layering elements that contrast sheer and opaque, using a neutral base to highlight bright or metallic trims and being sexy in a modern and culturally appropriate way.”

Another incredible bespoke maker provided ornate wedding capes, trimmed in gold and colourful petals to transform the modern look into something truly bridal.

The bride’s hair was dressed in two different styles to compliment the daytime and evening looks with pearl ornaments and jewellery also designed by Felicity Westmacott. Both the bride and her maid of honour (wearing a lace top and yellow skirt from Matchimony) had their make-up done in soft colours to really bring out their best features. It’s nice to change your hair and make-up for the evening part of the party if your MUA/stylist can stay.
The handsome groom, Piyush, wore a summer linen suit in a neutral stone colour. He also changed his tie and waistcoat to compliment his new wife’s more relaxed evening look. And our gorgeous bridal model, Evie, brought along her very friendly and relaxed dog, who let us dress them up in tassels and pose for photos as part of the shoot!

Stationery design with prints in colours to compliment the theme included table plans on a hoop, name places with golden trim and invitations fit for Indian Royalty. The wedding cake was understated in size, as suitable for an intimate, city wedding and decorated with brightly coloured flowers each hand made in sugar.

It can seem intimidating to walk the balance between your own familiar culture and a new one, but with the right team of professionals on your side everything will come together perfectly. Planning a fusion wedding, whether English/Indian like this one or any combination provides so much scope for imaginative ways to honour the blend of cultures created by your new beginning in marriage. Trust your team, and your instincts and your perfect Indian summer wedding may be the end of summer, but the start of something truly magical.
