Hey lovelies! How are you all this beautiful Thursday morning? I’m already planning the blog for August – it’s a crazy busy summer of weddings which is wonderful 🙂 If there are any photographers out there who’d love to see their favourite summer weddings on the blog, do get in touch! I also have a handful of sponsor slots available from today, which I’m offering a lovely saving on – so pop me an email over if you’d like to know more (info@english-wedding.com) But most importantly – Amy and Mark. These two are just gorgeous, and their day is full of individuality and character – it’s just perfect. Images are by lovely English Wedding sponsor and Hertfordshire wedding photographer Becky Harley – and they’re outstanding. Becky gets a glowing review from our happy couple, who have shared all the details of their day with us here. I hope you love this one as much as I do!

Victoria and Lawrence used the loveliest autumnal touches to decorate their beautiful medieval venue Dartington Hall. It’s the largest medieval house in the West of England and possibly one of the most romantic wedding venues in the South West. They chose to marry in November because they love the cosy touches they could incorporate into their day: log fires and autumnal colours with rustic touches: lots of dried leaves, pine cones, ivy, burnt oranges, candles… and it looks wonderful!

Beautiful autumn wedding in Devon with Martin Dabek Photography (21)

The stunning images of this gorgeous couple’s day were captured by English Wedding Blog sponsor Martin Dabek Photography. Martin is one of the loveliest photographers we know and consistently gets fabulous reviews from his wedding couples. You can discover more from him here:

Sifting through wedding photographs is the loveliest job, it truly is! Something about Aimee and Ben’s day made me realise every one of the celebrations I see is special for something truly unique to the couple. For Aimee and Ben, the barn location and simple, relaxed styling makes everything look perfect – and the delight on their faces makes it a treat to look through their images from beginning to end.

Today’s beautiful bride Alexandra describes her wedding to Elikem as “a collage of vintage pastels, silver screen, Motown and total euphoria!” – don’t you just love that?! Their day was themed around Motion Pictures. “El and I are huge film fans so our invites looked like movie tickets and each table was named after one of our favourite films.”

Inspiring style with personal touches and a gorgeous vintage twist! A Bromley wedding by Teddy Pig Photography (2)

Due to the time of year I researched and suddenly came across the idea of having dried flowers which were so different. I had never seen a Bride before with dried flowers and the bouquets on The Artisan Dried Flower Company‘s website were stunning. The flowers really complimented El’s tweed suit too.

Autumn wedding styling isn’t all about the pine cones, you know. I get it: they’re cute little things, with a dash of childhood nostalgia attached… but I think after years upon years of pine cone wedding styling they’re about to be pushed from the top spot – by the humble gourd!

Vibrant autumn colours and tons of styling ideas for a Notley Barn wedding with Amanda Karen Photography (22)

So many wedding traditions and styling ideas start in the US and gradually make their way over here. With all the budding excitement of Hallowe’en they start their pumpkins early over there… and the mini versions (gourds is a catch-all term for anything pumpkinesque, in my simple mind!) are colourful, cute and charming as hell. I love how Kate and Ali used them to style their day.
