How did you choose your photographer?

Were you pleased with your wedding photographer? Do tell… we love a brilliant review!

We were absolutely thrilled with the photographs Robin took of our wedding, as well as the overall service he provided. He was extremely professional and made us feel at ease instantly (even for people who hate having photographs taken!). He is amazing at working with light and is the master of candid shots. We would highly recommend Robin!

Videographer details if applicable – and any thoughts for other couples about having a wedding video?

We had Harry Fynn as our videographer and would definitely recommend his services. We weren’t sure about whether or not to have a videographer at all but, in fact, we have watched the video (both long and short versions) several times already. It’s amazing to be able to re-live the day from time to time! He was super discrete and was able to capture some very special moments.

Tell us about your venue – what made this place special for you?

We got married at Axnoller House – a place that we instantly fell in love with. It’s an amazing venue to take over for the weekend if, like us, you really want to stretch out the celebrations for as long as possible. The owners were extremely accommodating to both us and our guests, and the team that runs the wedding on the day is pretty special too (including the incredible in-house chef)! We will definitely be going back there for another celebration one day, we just need to find a good excuse…

Did you love wearing your outfits? How was the dress / suit shopping experience?

Suit shopping turned out to be harder than finding the dress! We loved every minute of the experience though and, in fact, dress shopping with the girls is a memory that will be cherished forever.

Did you hire a florist? Tell us about any floral amazingness

Jennifer Poynter did our flowers and she was an absolute dream to work with. Considering our total lack of knowledge of flowers, she was quickly able to decipher exactly what we wanted and was really able to achieve the ‘wild’ and rustic look that we were after.

As cake lovers here at English Wedding we’d LOVE to know who made your cake, and how delicious it was?

Lisa Notley designed and made our rustic, semi-naked wedding cake. She was lovely to work with and the tasting was such a treat! The cake was delicious, and looked just as good as it tasted.

Tell us about any special personal touches, or creative projects you made yourselves

We love personal touches and think they are a good way of representing your sense of style. To fit in with our rustic theme, we had little tree stumps as place name holders – each engraved with the date of the wedding. These have made for really cute little photo holders now too!

More favourite wedding suppliers

We would also highly recommend our wedding band, The Brotherhood – they were amazing and extremely accommodating to our wishes. They certainly know how to get a party going too!

Lauren McCormack is the queen of hair and makeup. She’s extremely talented, uses all the best products and was great at getting everyone ready on time. She’s absolutely lovely too, and was a fabulous addition to have with the girls on the morning of the wedding!

Paper Vows did all of our wedding stationery and we honestly could not recommend Bethany enough! She is extremely creative, very efficient and was so lovely to work with. She can pretty much make anything happen, and she is incredibly reliable.
