Glorious winter to spring wedding style at Hooton Pagnell Hall

Published by Claire Gould on

Continuing with the beautiful escapism of weddings this week… we head to Hooton Pagnell for a sublimely sustainable styled shoot! The early sunshine is a delight; the look is natural, organic and elegant, and the special touches (cake! calligraphy! candles!) are FABULOUS!

Mark Crayden captured the shoot. We all loved his raw and effortless talent to be able to capture emotion, as well as the transitioning season. We were inspired by seasonal flowers, consisting of pretty peachy hues, a Pantone blue pop and with subtle earthy touches. Cut and bulb form was key to Sam of Fantail Designer Florist, whilst the use of moss and eco-friendly techniques were also adopted throughout. No floral foam was used for our inspirational shoot.

The transition between Winter and Spring is something that the team were keen to focus on, as this is often a season that is overlooked. Luckily, the sun shone and we were able to use the beautiful grounds of our venue, Hooton Pagnell Hall (and abundance of glorious sunshine!) to capture the seasonal transitions.

You’ll find images which span from the 13th Century Main Hall, our French-style bridal getting ready room, dining room, the Tithe Barn, lawns, and rustic green house. We’re really lucky to have such a contrast in the spaces that we offer, which offers both classic features and natural elegance.

Charlotte, of Cherry Blossom Cakes, designed the cake with a sublime textured finish, featuring sugar paste Ranunculus and leafy green petals. Moss was also featured on the cake, which really tied in that unique earthy and seasonal feel. Charlotte also designed the sweetest of biscuits for the place settings, which looked wonderful paired with the gold-leaf stationery from Raspberry Toast and unique crockery from Eat Me – Drink Me.

When creating the concept for the shoot, we were keen to tie in an ‘English Countryside’ vibe. We sourced the most beautiful Modeca gowns from Claire at The White Yard and Herbie Frogg suits from Tweed and Groom. Timeless elegance was key, and we think that these dresses looked wonderful on our real bride, Emma. Again, we wanted a really natural make-up look to compliment both Emma’s natural beauty and the shoot.

Charlotte Mallinder created dewy skin, with soft eyes and rosy cheeks. Headpieces for both the Bride and Mother of the Bride were created by the very talented George Durdy, again, a local supplier to us at Hooton Pagnell Hall.

Kelly Hanks, award winning hair stylist, created a classic up do, which perfectly framed Emma’s face. We thought it was stunning, and fit the concept wonderfully.

Typically British Classic Cars were very kindly lent by Candeao Wedding Cars, which we think that Sam’s florals looked incredible flowing out of. Heritage pieces were kindly lent by Wild Wedding Days; our favourite being the classic red chesterfield!
