Opulent wedding styling in blush and gold, from The Barns at Redcoats

Happy Tuesday everyone! Today’s blog is all about lush, floral luxury – and unashamedly soft and feminine! The flowers are key to this look, which just oozes glamour and classic wedding style. A brand new wedding venue for 2018, The Barns at Redcoats in Hitchin, Hertfordshire has been lovingly restored by its owners and this provided the perfect opportunity for a team of highly creative wedding professionals to create a haven of elegance, opulence and romance through beautiful blush pinks, golds and pops of navy. The images are by Bedfordshire wedding photographers Bond Photography – a unique father & daughter team who work so well together capturing beautiful weddings all around the UK.

I adore the stationery by Olive & Millicent – the wax seal is fabulous and the foliage illustrated around the edges of the invitations is just beautiful. To add a luxury element, the suite was finished with a vellum wrap with gold detailing. The stationery for the table was hand calligraphed on clear acrylic to work alongside the stunning floral display.

The cakes are by Meadowsweet Cakes who pulled out all the stops to create a selection of stunning, timeless and elegant tiered wedding cakes. I love the tablescape with lush florals and feminine styling – the candles are modern and perfectly on trend with a soft metallic shine. Place settings are kept simple with white napkins and a sprig of dark berries for each guest, which looks fantastic.

The star of the show is the floral design – all done by Ellené Nye. The opulent floral chandelier hangs above a table blooming with roses, peonies, hydrangeas and more – it’s astonishingly beautiful. The flowers cascade from the table top down to the floor – I honestly can’t stop looking at how beautiful this all is! For the table, a palette of dusty pink, white and ivory was brought to life with textures such as eucalyptus, pittosporum, soft ruscus and dark blue sloe berries. Candles in abundance added to the warm luxurious look. This floral piece looks wonderful on a top table or a ceremony table.

The shoot was co-ordinated by Rachel Sokhal Bridal Accessories, together with Kim Sandford Hairdressing who were passionate about creating an opulent, heavily floral shoot to evoke romance and elegance to its fullest and thus providing timeless wedding inspiration. It’s the area of the wedding industry they work in and whilst they appreciate other styles, their love lies in the classic and sophisticated wedding.
