Justin & Erika – Glorious florals for a Ventnor Botanic Gardens wedding, with Holly Cade Photography

Published by Claire Gould on

Today’s wedding is just stunning – I especially adore the vibrant floral arrangements, and the bride and groom are gorgeous!! Ventnor Botanic Garden is a revelation…what a beautiful location with all those tropical plants… if I was on the Isle of Wight I’d be making a beeline for the place to find out more!

Erika’s dress is fabulously different and she looks amazing – while Justin is equally gorgeous and beaming with happiness (I wish I could hear his speech – the photos don’t do it justice!) So grab a cuppa and find a comfy chair, enjoy this lovely pair’s fabulous wedding pics, and have the most wonderful Friday everyone!!

We went to Ventnor botanical garden wedding fair and loved her style and found Holly really friendly and approachable. We booked her then and there.

We really couldn’t have asked for better photos!!! We love all of them. Holly has captured the day so perfectly and no awkward poses, showing family and friends our photos, we have been told many times how amazing the photos are!!!

We were so excited when the photos arrived!! We were on our honeymoon watching the sunset. Each photo just kept getting better and better

May

Can you describe your wedding in fewer than 10 words?

Beautiful – filled with love and joy

Your wedding style or theme:

Sunsets at our favourite locations

Where did you find your suppliers? (Blogs, magazines, recommendations?)

Recommendations

What’s your top tip for saving money?

We had a brownie tower for our wedding cake that we also used for dessert

… and which elements of your wedding are you glad you spent more on?

Hehe my dress ?

Where did you buy or source your wedding stationery – or was making it a labour of love?

I am pretty crafty so did stationery myself and loved doing it!! Gave personal touches

Did you fall in love with your wedding dress?

Omg yes!!! It’s different just like me!!

Wedding dress designer and bridal boutique:

Maggie Sottero

Tell us about your accessories: jewellery, shoes and anything else!

Naive lace shoes, navy earings, tiffany bracelet

And what did the groom wear?

Hugo Boss suit

Beautiful bridesmaids: what did your best girls wear?

Navy dress with a little lace and sparkle

Hair and make-up – did you DIY or hire a professional?

Professional

Describe your wedding flowers. Who arranged them for you? (florist details would be lovely please)

We used Inspired Events and they were fantastic!! Chris was spot on with the flowers. Our colours were navy and peachy orange. Everyone commented how beautiful they were!!

General styling – did your venue need much decoration?

Not really, because we were in the botanical gardens the flowers really decorated the place. May was that perfect month because they had all bloomed for the big day!!

Crafts and makes – tell us about any homemade elements of your wedding… did you enjoy them?

Loved making all the crafty stationery!!! I made our invites out of four petals that fanned out, once fully fanned out it showed full picture of our sunset in Barbados where Justin proposed. I brought a paper cutting machine that made the job much easier, so all our table names, seating plan was made from cutting machine

The wedding cake: what kind of cake did you choose and why?

We had a beautiful brownie tower, we loved the rustic look and liked the idea of using the brownies for dessert. Helps save those pennies.

Entertainment: any musical recommendations, surprises or treats?

We had a band called 8-ball and my gosh they just owned the night!! Everyone was dancing all night and loved them so much!!! Could not recommend highly enough

Words of wisdom: share your best piece of advice for other couples:

The advice I would give out is plan ahead and really don’t worry about the small things that may/go wrong!!! There are far more important things in life than a cake not looking perfect or a decoration that doesn’t look how you wanted it to, I see so many brides that allow the small things to ruin the experience of organising a wedding or even worse allow the small things to ruin their special day!! Remember every second of your day because before you know it will all be over

What’s the best thing about being married?

Calling my husband hubby!!! Not a lot changed as we have been together for 10 years and have already experience so many memories and challenges together
