Antlers, owls and otherworldly, beautiful blues – alternative bridal shoot with VeVi Photography
Today’s shoot blows my mind, it’s so beautiful! Kirsty’s fabulous blue hair is only the beginning: the dress is insanely beautiful, the owl is the cutest thing ever, and the dripping candles and creative tablescapes tie the alternative fairytale styling (because yes, that’s a thing now!) together perfectly. We wanted to create a fairytale feel for our alternative wedding shoot combining the woodland rustic wedding styling with touches of more luxurious items like gold rimmed plates, some exotic flowers and gold painted apples.
Kirsty and George love fairytales and Disney so when I photographed their fairytale themed wedding previously I knew they would be the right couple for the shoot I had in mind since their wedding had inspired me. It was a thrill to relieve their wedding day emotions with this lovely couple and an absolute joy to have our ring bearer owl there too.
The shoot involved making some of the props from scratch such as the backdrop wall, we had festoon lighting and even created a mist using dry ice for atmosphere towards the end of the shoot.
We needed the perfect unusual wedding dress for this vision to come together and we found the gorgeous blush and black wedding dress after much searching. The dress traveled all the way from Romania and it really was perfect for what I envisioned for our luxury woodland wedding styled shoot.
We feel like all the hard work came to something beautiful and the love between George and Kirsty really does shine through their images as much as it did on their wedding day. They really were the perfect couple for our shoot and it was such a pleasure to work with them again.
