Alexandria and Kristian’s magical village hall wedding, with Olegs Samsonovs Photography

Alex is a wedding florist, and as you’d expect her bouquet is a bit of a knockout. This beauty is unstructured, tumbling, full of delicious foliage and statement flowers… and the rest of the wedding is just as stunning!

I’m so proud of the overall image of the wedding but the flowers (from Wild For Flowers, Folkestone) completely lifted it. It changed from just being a village hall wedding to our really special day. Our venue was a village hall and we loved it. It was a blank canvas that we could have for a week before to decorate exactly how we wanted it to be.

We made all sorts for the wedding from backdrops to table arrangements, from pimms and lemonade stands to table plans, and all of it was incredibly enjoyable – some really fantastic memories.

How did you choose your photographer?

I’m a florist and one of my best friends is a wedding coordinator at the old Kent barn and she highly recommended Rita and Olegs. When we met them and their gorgeous son Oskar it was amazing and we just knew it had to be therm.
I always said that your photographer is the most important supplier your with them all day and you need to have a great connection.
They made us feel so at ease!

Were you pleased with your wedding photographer? Do tell… we love a brilliant review!

We are really pleased with our photographer. You wouldn’t have known they were there yet the photos they caught were fantastic. They made you feel totally comfortable.

Tell us about the moment you saw your wedding photos for the first time?

It was really exciting and being able to relive the day was magical.
Seeing bits that you didn’t fully experience on the day because it was so busy but made it all special.
I loved seeing my dads reaction when he first saw me and also seeing Kristian when I walked down the aisle . All our family having a great time. It was all really lovely to see.

What’s your top tip for saving money?

Prioritise your most important elements and things low on the list search for cheaper alternatives

… and which elements of your wedding are you glad you spent more on?

My flowers! And the car!! And my dress and the photographer
I own a florist called wild for flowers and because of this I wanted the flowers to be the most important part (except my wonderful husband)
It took loads of planning and ideas but it is my favourite part.
It was so lovely all my family and friends all helped put it all together. The wedding run up was wonderful and some fantastic memories were made.
It made the whole experience magical.
I didn’t make my bouquet I had a good friend make it and it was just amazing. I couldn’t have asked for more it was everything I wanted.

Where did you buy or source your wedding stationery – or was making it a labour of love?

Our invitations were bought from hobby craft and hand written.
Our Table plan was made by my wonderful mother in law
Our place names I have wrote in a Disney font on discs of birch.

Did you fall in love with your wedding dress?

Yes it was an amazing dress made my Ian Stuart!

Wedding dress designer and bridal boutique:

My wonderful mum sourced it. It fitted like a glove.

Tell us about your accessories: jewellery, shoes and anything else!

My shoes were from treds,
My mum and dad bought me a pandora bracelet for my birthday earlier in the year so they and Kristian could add to it on the day of the wedding
My aunt gave me a beautiful set of earings and necklace
My mum lent me for my something old and borrowed my wonderful grandmas wedding ring.

And what did the groom wear?

He wore a wonderful blue ted baker suit.

Beautiful bridesmaids: what did your best girls wear?

She wore a really lovely mori-lee dress

Hair and make-up – did you DIY or hire a professional?

We hired a professionals to do both. It was money well spend it made the morning more magical.

The wedding cake: what kind of cake did you choose and why?

My aunt bought our wedding cake, we wanted a rustic cake with moist sponge.
We had four tiers 2 lemon 2 Victoria sponge with a butter cream covering. With fresh flowers
It was delicious!

Entertainment: any musical recommendations, surprises or treats?

We had an old caravan with props and a Polaroid camera inside, we have some great photos as the evening went on….
Old village fete games and a dj
The dj was brilliant we asked for cheesy songs that get people up dancing all night and that is exactly what they did absolutely brilliant!

Words of wisdom: share your best piece of advice for other couples:

It’s your wedding have what you want.
Take advice but make your own decisions

What’s the best thing about being married?

Being mr and Mrs Clifford,
Everyone said you didn’t feel any different yet the day after I felt on cloud 9.
We feel complete.
