Hey there beautiful! It’s been a crazy week for me and I’m finally settling into my brand new house. Exciting times… and one thing I’ve kept in my handbag, away from the boxes where I’ve lost everything else I own (seriously; why did I write ‘randomness’ on every box? Where are my pants?!) … is my new favourite lipstick from Love, Honour & Be True. Helen and Kitty, who founded Love, Honour & Be True last year, kindly sent me a sample to try and it hasn’t left my side since!
Of course there’s more to today’s feature than a pretty lipstick. I’m writing this post for Love, Honour & Be True because they’re all about cruelty free lipsticks as well as being independent British wedding suppliers.
Do read these really helpful tips from Helen & Kitty, and if you can, support a fabulous independent supplier by buying one of their 5 luscious wedding lippies for your big day! (Or, for making your lips pretty while sitting at your desk and writing a wedding blog… hehe!)
Cruelty Free Bridal Lippies from Love, Honour and Be True
Love, Honour and Be True is a makeup brand which is specifically designed for the bride; our colours have been specifically chosen to be timeless so your wedding photographs will always be beautiful. We designed our lipstick colours to vary from nude through to red, as we know every bride is unique and each shade is designed for a different look. All of our lipstick shades suit all skin tones, are moisturising, non-bleeding and long lasting.
Our lipsticks are filled in the UK and all ingredients are not tested on animals; this is something which is really important to us as we are animal lovers and we could not have on our conscience any animal testing as it is a horrific and cruel practice.
Finding a filling company for our lipsticks which did not test on animals was key and when we found that it is an EU regulation to not test on animals for the production of cosmetics we found a filling company based in the North West of England.
We double checked with our chemist that no ingredients or products would be tested on animals and Jim our chemist confirmed that he probably has the only job where his wife is not suspicious of him coming home with makeup on!
As our lipsticks are filled in the North West of England and we are based in Manchester we physically drove to collect our final product when it was finished – this also reduced our geographical footprint for emissions.
The lipstick names are wedding themed and they are called; Love Story, Kiss the Bride, I Do, Just Married and Blushing Bride.
All shades are available through our website www.lovehonourandbetrue.com and cost just £12.
5 top tips for Luscious Lips on your wedding day
Everyone wants gorgeous lush lips. Especially when it comes to that moment in the wedding ceremony when “you can now kiss the bride.”
Here are our top tips to ensure you have the most kissable lips around.
1. Keep hydrated. Drink plenty of water to keep your lips soft.
2. It is important to wear protection on your lips. Especially outside as they can dry out very easily.
3. Don’t lick your lips, not only is this going to spread bacteria but will dry your lips out even more as repeated licking washes off the natural oils from your lips.
4. Exfoliate your lips. Don’t be too rough, but lightly buff with a sugar based exfoliant. This will rid you of dry chapped skin.
5. Use a lip balm to help keep in the moisture and protect your lips from the sun, wind, cold or hot. It will act as a shield to trap in moisture and seal cracks.
And why not have the ultimate luscious lips and wear Love, Honour and Be True’s “Kiss the Bride” lipstick?
